CAUSE  OF  DEATH

Mrs. Bridget Blenk, Aged
Resident, Died at Home
Early This Morning.

          Mrs. Bridget Blenk, wife of  William Blenk,  died at her home, 209 east Broadway, in this city, at 5:30 o'clock this morning.  Death was caused from a complication of diseases.  Mrs. Blenk's illness extended over a period of about three years, and at the time of her death she was seventy-two years, four months and one day old.
          Born in Dublin, Ireland, the daughter of  Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McGreath  the deceased came to this country at fifteen years of age.  On May 3, 1882, she was unite din marriage with  William Blenk  and they became the parents of five children, three of whom are now living.  They are  Mrs. B. H. Lieland  of Shelbyville;  Miss Irene Blenk,  at home, and  Mrs. H. E. Horstmeyr,  of New York City.  Mrs. Blenk is also survived by two grandchildren.
          Mrs. Blenk was a devoted member of St. Joseph Catholic church.  She spent almost her entire lifetime in this community and her death is felt deeply by her many firends.  She was a woman of lovely character who made the lives of those around her happier through her kindness and sweet disposition.
          Funeral services will be conducted at the St. Joseph church Saturday morning at nine o'clock with the Rec. John C. Rager officiating.  The burial will be at St. Joseph cemetery with Charles M. Ewing, funeral, director, in charge.

Widely Known Resident of
Community Is Victim of Heart
Ailment -- Funeral Friday.

          Ill only two days,  William J. Blenk,  well known Shelbyville resident, died unexpectedly at his home, 136 north Vine street, at 4:15 o'clock Tuesday evening.  His death was due to heart trouble and is a source of deep sorrow to hundreds of friends throughout the community.
          The last of a family of thirteen children, Mr. Blenk had lived in Shelbyville fifty-eight years.  He was a devoted member of the St. Joseph Catholic church and was affiliated with the Knights of St. John.
          The son of  Joseph and Mary (Fultz) Blenk,  he was born in Batesville on March 11, 1856, and was eighty years, two months and twenty-one days of age.  He was married to  Bridget McGrath  fifty four years ago.  She preceded him in death on July 2, 1941.  Five children were born to the union, three of whom survive.
          The children are  Mrs. H. E. Horstmeyer,  of Mt. Vernon, N.Y.,  Mrs. E. H. Lieland  and  Miss Irene Blenk,  of this city.  He is also survived by two grandchildren,  Charles and  Josephine Lieland,  and several nieces and nephews.
          Funeral services will be held at the St. Joseph church at 9:00 a.m. Friday.  The Rev. John C. Rager will officiate.  Burial will be made in the church cemetery in charge of C. F. Fix & Son, funeral directors.  Friends may call at the late home at any time.
