Thomas E. Bogeman, 77, of Waldron died Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010 at Waldron Health & Rehab Center. Services are pending at Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St., in St. Paul.

CAROLYN N. BOGEMAN

Carolyn N. Bogeman, 70, of Waldron died Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009, at Major Hospital. Born March 10, 1939, in shelby County, she was the daughter of Wilbur and Helen M. (Lewis) Gullion. She married Thomas Bogeman in 1966, and he survives. Other survivors include her sister, Norma Ensslin of Shelbyville and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. Bogeman was a lifelong Shelby County resident. She had been employed in private home care nursing and previously employed at the former Elanjay Garment Factory in Shelbyville for several years. Mrs. Bogeman was a member of the Apostolic Tabernacle.
No visitation or public service will be observed. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Glenn E. George Funeral Home, 106 E. Franklin St. in St. Paul. Online condolences may be sent to www.glennegeorgeandson.net.

Mary F. Bogemann, 85, Shelbyville, died today.
Born Oct. 14, 1912, in Shelby County, d/o Ambrose Michael and Rose (Hirschauer) Higgins. In 1934, married Carl M. Bogemann, he died May 28, 1990.
Lived in Shelby County most of her life. Employed at Shelby Bottled Gas, bookkeeper. Sewing instructor for the Singer Sewing Machine Co.
Member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and St. Anne’s Altar Society.
Survivors include two sons, Michael K. Bogemann and Mark J. Bogemann, both of Shelbyville; a brother, Jack Higgins, Shelbyville; two sisters, Ruth Thieman, Shelbyville, and Martha Higgins, Muncie; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

MRS. BOGEMAN
DIES AT 95

Mrs. Caroline "Carrie" Bogeman, 95, who owned and operated a boarding house on South West Street here, for many years, died Saturday at the Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville where she had been a patient for five and a half years.
Mrs. Bogeman was born Sept. 2, 1863, in Reichenbach, Germany, and came to the United States in 1864 with an uncle who operated a bakery in Springfield, Ohio. She married Louis Frederick Bogeman on May 24, 1892, and he died in 1932. A son, Lawrence H. Bogeman of Atlanta, Mich., survives. A daughter, Mrs. Frances Rogers died in 1932. There are five grandchildren, three step-grandhcildren and a niece, Miss Cecilia Bogeman of Shelbyville, surviving.
Mrs. Bogeman was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Ladies Auxiliary of Knights of St. John.
Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Church with Rev. Bernard Burgert officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call at the Sleeth Funeral Home after 4:00 p.m. today. The Rosary will be recited at the mortuary at 8:00 p.m. today.

End Comes For John Bogeman Friday

John H. Bogeman, one of Shelbyville's oldest residents, died at 12:30 a.m. Friday in his home, 324 East Washington street. He was 92 years of age.
In failing health for some time, Mr. Bogeman's death was attributed to ailments incidental to his advanced age.
Mr. Bogeman was born in Cincinnati on April 12, 1854, and moved to Shelby county in 1875. He had been a resident of Shelbyville since 1896, and was actively employed in businesses here until his retirement several years ago. On August 24, 1881, he was married to Miss Anna Schaffer, who preceded him in death in November, 1920.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. John [Adelheide] Ford and Miss Cecilia Bogeman, both at home, and Mrs. Theodore [Philomena] Lettelleir, also of this city; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and a brother, William Bogeman, of near Waldron.
Mr. Bogeman was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, where funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 9:00 o'clock by the Rev. Clement Zepf. Burial in charge of Hendrickson & Sleeth funeral home will be made in the St. Joseph cemetery. Friends may call at the late home after 3:00 p.m. Saturday.

Louie Bogeman, age 71 years, died at his
home, 233 West South Street, at 12:30 o'clock this afternoon after a long illness. He had suffered from uremia
for the past three years. Mr. Bogeman was born at Enochsburg, Indiana, on December 29, 1862, and was the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bogeman. On May 24, 1892, he was married to Miss Caroline Schafer
and two children were born to the couple, Lawrence, whose address at the present time is not known, and
Mrs. James Rogers, of this city. The deceased also leave three brothers, John Bogeman,
of this city, and Ed and Will Bogeman, of Shelby county, and four sisters, Mrs. Amelia Puelfing,
of Enochsburg; Mrs. Elizabeth Rehme, of this city; Mrs. Walter Burke, of Bloomington,
Indiana, and Sister M. Stanislaus, of Middletown, Ohio. Mr. Bogeman was a member of the St. Joseph
Catholic Church. He had spent all of his married life in this city and operated a meat shop here for twenty-five
years. Funeral services will be held at the St. Joseph church at nine o'clock on Monday morning with the
Rev. John C. Rager officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery in charge of Charles M. Ewing.

Mrs. John Bogeman Stricken With
Cerebral Hemorrhage At Her home Here

Mrs. John [Anna] Bogeman, age sixty-three years, died suddenly Tuesday morning at five- fifteen o'clock, at her home, 324 East Washington street. Her death was caused by a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Bogeman had been ill for several weeks. Septicemia had developed, following an infection of one of her hands. She had been under the care of a physician and was recovering from the illness and Monday evening seemed to be in her usual good health. Her death occurred this morning before a physician could reach her home.
Mrs. Bogeman had lived all of her life in Shelby county with the exception of seven years. She had lived in Shelbyville for twenty-four years. She was born September 3, 1857, in Covington, Kentucky. After the death of her father she had made her home with her aunt, Mrs. Henry Torline, who at the time lived north of Shelbyville. She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic church here, and of the St. Anne Altar Society.
She was married to John Bogeman on August 24, 1881. Besides her husband she leaves three daughters, Mrs. John [Adelheide] Ford, of Connersville; Mrs. Theodore [Philomena] Lettelleir, of Bloomington and Miss Cecilia Bogeman, at home; one grand-child, Martha Ford; her aged mother, Mrs. Catherine Bentley, of Cincinnati; one brother, Ben Schaffer and one half-brother, Frank Bentley, both of Cincinnati.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at nine o'clock at the St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be made in the church cemetery. Sanders M. Hendrickson in charge.

Aged Lady Passed Away After Illness Covering Six Weeks
Funeral Will Be Held Friday Morning At Catholic Church

Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bogeman died Wednesday evening at six-twenty o'clock at the home of her son F. L. Bogeman, No. 233 West South street. Her death was caused by old age. Mrs. Bogeman has been ill for the last six weeks and during the last week her condition has been such that it was seen she could not long survive.
Mrs. Bogeman was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Broxterman. She was born in Hanover, Germany, November 27, 1834, and at the time of her death was aged seventy-nine years, five months and one day. The deceased came to this country with her parents when seven years old. After they had arrived in this country, Mr. and Mrs. Broxterman and their daughter went to Cincinnati, where they resided. There it was that Miss Broxterman was united in marriage to Henry Bogeman, January 26, 1853.
Mr. and Mrs. Bogeman made Cincinnati their home until March, 1875, when they moved to the vicinity of Prescott, in this county. There they took a fine farm which they lived on for a number of years. When Mr. Bogeman's health became such that he was unable to no longer work the farm, he and his wife moved to Bloomington, Indiana, where they made their home. Mr. Bogeman died at Bloomington April 17, 1901. Mrs. Bogeman continued to make that city her home until two years ago when she came to this city to live with her children. During her short residence here she became acquainted with a large number of persons.
Mrs. Bogeman was a member of the Catholic church from youth and united with the church in this city after coming here.
She is survived by five sons: John H. Bogeman, of this city, Rev. Father M. H. Bogeman of Bloomington; F.L. Bogeman and Edward H. Bogeman, of this city, William J. Bogeman, of near Prescott; four daughters, Mrs. Amelia Puelsing, of Enochsburg; Mrs. Elizabeth Rehme this city; Mrs. Walter [Cecilia] Burk, of Bloomington; Sister Stanislaus, Oldenburg; one brother, John Broxterman, of Cincinnati; twenty-five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held Friday morning at nine o'clock at the St. Joseph Catholic church, Rev. Father Bogeman of Bloomington, officiating, assisted by Rev. Father Kaelin, of this city, and Rev. Father Ketter, of St. Vincent. Burial will be made in St. Joseph cemetery in charge of Hendrickson & Sleeth. Friends may call at the home this evening and Friday morning until eight o'clock.
The pall bearers are as follows: Henry, August and Lawrence Rehme, Lawrence, Leonard and Clifford Bogeman. All are grandsons of the deceased.

JOHN HENRY BOGEMAN

Word was received here yesterday by Mrs. J. H. Bogeman, who was here from Bloomington, Monroe county, transacting some business and visiting among relatives, announcing the sudden death, from heart disease, of her husband at his home in Bloomington. Deceased had been in poor health several months, but notwithstanding this his death came as a great surprise and shock. He was a good citizen, a loving husband, and father. John Henry Bogeman, was born in Glane, Germany, [November 16, 1824] seventy-seven years ago, coming to America in 1847, settling in Cincinnati. In 1853 he was married to M. E. Broxterman and in 1854 moved to Enochsburg, Franklin county, where he engaged in the general merchandise business. The family came to Shelby township, this county, March 12, 1875, where the subject of this sketch engaged in farming. He leaves besides the widow nine children, five sons, John, Lewis, Edward and William of this city, and Rev. Mathias Bogeman, of Bloomington, and four daughters, Amelia Pulsing, Mrs. Frank [Elizabeth] Rehme, Mrs. [Cecilia] Burke and Miss Agness Bogeman. The remains will reach this city on tomorrow (Friday) and will be taken to the residence of Mr. Frank Rehme. The funeral will be from the St. Joseph church at 9 a.m. Saturday. Interment in the St. Joseph cemetery.
