PETERSBURG, Ind. -- Irene L. Britton, 93, died Thursday night at Amber Manor Nursing Home. Surviving are a son, Richard of Petersburg; a sister, Inez Shoudy of Vincennes; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Her husband, Claud, died in 1985. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Walnut Hills Cemetery. There will be no visitation at Harris Funeral Home.

ODON -- Harold H. Britton, 66, died unexpectedly at 12:32 p.m. Wednesday. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Poindexter & Son Funeral Home, Odon Chapel, with Bro. Ken Fuller officiating. Interment will be in Sugarland Memory Gardens. Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.
He was born Jan. 21, 1922 in Greene County to Jesse and Daisy Stevens Britton. He married Linda M. Boling Nov. 12, 1942 and she survives. He was retired after 3 years at the Rogers Group, Bloomington, as an operation engineer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He came to Daviess County in 1953.
Surviving are his wife and two daughters and three sons, Mrs. Kay Frye, Newburgh, Mrs. Glenda Wolford, Richard, Willard and Steve Britton, all of Odon, 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild, and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Ault, Linton, and Mrs. Betty Brown, Alexec [sic], Ill. Two brothers and one sister are deceased.

PETERSBURG -- Claud Britton, 79, died Wednesday at 4:20 p.m. at his home. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Harris Funeral Home, Petersburg, with the Rev. John Manges officiating. Interment will be in Walnut Hills Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
He was born Dec. 28, 1905 at Lyons to Jonathan and Elizabeth Robbins Britton. He married Irene Dennison and she survives. He was retired from ConRail and was a member of the First Christian Church of Petersburg. Surviving besides his wife are one son, Richard Britton, Petersburg, three grandchildren and six great grandchildren, and one brother, Jesse Britton, Linton.

Dies at Winslow

Mrs. Frank Britton, about 57 years old, of Winslow, died at 3:00 o'clock this morning at a Winslow hospital, following a short illness, according to word received here. Mrs. Britton, the former Beulah Brosman, was reared in Linton. She had moved to Winslow about twenty years ago.
Survivors include the husband, Frank Britton; two daughters, Mrs. Dee Hale and Mrs. Adrian Woods, both of Winslow, and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Winslow Christian church.

LINTON, Ind., May 4, -- Mrs. Daisy Bell Britton, 48 years old, is dead at her home near here. Her death followed a sudden illness. She was a member of Stafford Chapel M. E. church. Survivors are the husband, Jesse; four children, Mrs. Luther Ault, of Lyons; twin sons, Gerald and Harold Britton, and Betty Jean Britton, all at home; three brothers, Bert Stevens, of Vincennes; William Stevens, of Indianapolis, and Ben McBride, of Kalispell, Mont.; four sisters, Mrs. Curtis Dunkin and Mrs. Lovett Brock, of Terre Haute; Mrs. Bee* Norman and Mrs. Ruby Snyder, of Spencer.
