Wanda Sue Burch Jara, 62, of Clovis, NM died Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, May 12, 2014 at The Chapel, 1500 Thornton, with Pastor Darrell Tennefos officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews. Wanda was born July 1, 1951 to Fred and Emily (Kliess) Burch in Tuscola, IL. She married Lino Jara September 22, 1969 in Clovis, NM. She worked as a cook at Cannon Air Force Base. Wanda loved to crochet, knit, play games on her iPad, take care of her animals, and spend time with her family.
Survivors include her spouse, Lino Jara of the home; son, Daniel (Lucinda) Jara of Lubbock, TX; daughter, Julia (Paul) Montoya of Clovis, NM; three sisters, Fran Tristian of Clovis, NM, Peggy (Dana) Bauder of Albuquerque, NM, and Audry Hall of Charleston, IL; and three granchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Emily Burch; and brother, Joseph Burch.

Arthur J. Burch Sr., 83, of Arcola, IL passed away at 2:07 P.M. on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL. No formal services are being planned. The Edwards Funeral Home is assisting Arthur’s family.
Arthur was born on February 7, 1929 in Arcola, IL. He was a son of Fred and Nellie (Britton) Burch. He married Jessie Gray on December 15, 1951 in Arcola, IL. She passed away on December 23, 2011.
Arthur is survived by six children, Clarence Burch of Humboldt, IL, Arthur Burch Jr. of Mattoon, IL, Connie Burch formerly of Mattoon, IL, Cathy Burch of Hindsboro, IL, David Burch of Humboldt, IL and George Burch of Arcola, IL, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one brother Bob Burch and his wife Darlene of Humboldt, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, six brothers, Ray, Claude, Dude, Fred, Cliff and Orville Burch and one sister, Elsie Edgar.
Arthur was an Army Veteran. He had worked at Progress Industries in Arthur for several years. He enjoyed collecting clocks and taking care of his cat.

Jessie Burch, 78, of Arcola, IL passed away at 10:02 A.M. on Friday, December 23, 2011 at Provena Covenant Medical Center in Urbana, IL. Jessie was born on January 16, 1933 in Arcola, IL. She was a daughter of Sam and Laura (Conner) Gray. She married Arthur J. Burch on December 15, 1951 in Arcola, IL.
She is survived by her husband, Arthur J. Burch of Arcola, IL; six children, Clarence Burch of Humboldt, IL, Arthur Burch Jr. of Mattoon, IL, Connie Burch formerly of Mattoon, IL, Cathy Burch of Hindsboro, IL, David Burch of Humboldt and George Burch of Arcola, IL; eight grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mary Burton of Montrose, IL and Bessie Maynard of Paris, IL. Jessie was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Freman, Jim and Thomas Gray and three sisters, Gracie Burch, Flora Barnhart and Sarah Truetell.
Jessie had worked at Arcola Health Care for over twenty-five years. She had a green thumb and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Herbert B. Burch, 90, of Linton, passed away Friday, June 3, 2011 at his residence. He was born on Dec. 14, 1920 in Linton to General Marion and Elizabeth (Lucas) Burch. Herbert married Margie "Jean" Webber on March 1, 1941 and they were married for 70 years. Herbert served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was employed at NAD Crane, retiring in 1971. He was a member of the Linton First Christian Church and a Past Commander and life member of the DAV.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Burch; three sons, H. Larry (Brenda) Burch and Terry (Diana) Burch, both of Linton, and Rodney (Martha) Burch of Solsberry; six grandchildren, Michelle (Brad) McKinney of Linton, Tracy (Joel) Swearingen of Greenwood, Tasha (Tim) McGraw of Lake Mary, FL., Emily (David) Hoffman of Indianapolis, Amanda (Cory) Burch of Bloomfield; and six great-grandchildren, Abbey Burris, Alyssa, Drew and Megan Swearingen, Maggie and Ella McKinney. Also surviving is one sister, Helen Robinson of Plainfield, IN. Herbert was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson Brian Edward Burch; five brothers and four sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon International with envelopes available at the funeral home. Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton on Tuesday, June 7, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, June 8, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Warren Shake officiating. Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton with full military rites being presented by the Frank Courtney American Legion Post #22.

Joseph Wayne Burch Sr., 54, of Arcola, IL passed away at 9:49 A.M. on Monday, April 11, 2011 in Arcola, IL. Funeral Services were held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Father Barry Harmon officiated. Burial was in the Arcola Cemetery. Visitation was from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 15, 2011 at the funeral home.
Joseph was born on July 5, 1956 in Big Spring, TX. He was a son of Fred and Emily (Kliess) Burch. He married Carol Clabaugh on June 30, 1995 in Arcola, IL. He is survived by his wife Carol Burch of Arcola, IL; three children, Emily Burch of St. Mary’s, GA, Joseph Wayne Burch Jr. of Mattoon, IL and Crystal Burch of Mattoon, IL; four sisters, Wanda S. Jara, of New Mexico, Jewel F. Tristan of New Mexico, Audrey M. Hall of Charleston, IL, and Peggy L. Bauder of New Mexico; one step-daughter, Marsha Kimery of Arcola, IL; eleven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, Jason and one stepson, Mark Clabaugh.
Joseph has worked for Monahan Partners for over twenty years. He enjoyed supporting the Lawn Rangers, mowing, doing yard work and spending time with family and friends. In lieu of flowers donations were made to the family.

Orville D. “OB” Burch, 51, of Bushton, IL was surrounded by his family when he passed away at 2:20 P.M. Friday, June 4, 2010 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon, IL. A visitation and time to remember OB was held from 6:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. OB was born on April 3, 1959 in Tuscola, IL. He was a son of Robert Lowell and Delores Darlene (Griffith) Burch. He married Shelley Sawyer on May 18, 1984 in Sullivan, IL.
He is survived by his wife Shelley Burch of Bushton, IL; three sons, Rob Burch of Bushton, IL, Ray Burch of Mattoon, IL and Russ Burch of Bushton, IL; two grandsons, Raydon Burch and Rhydge Burch; his parents, Robert and Darlene Burch of Humboldt, IL; two brothers, Chuck Burch and his wife Song of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO and Doug Burch and his wife Cindy of Humboldt, IL and one sister, Linda Henne and her husband Doug of Piney Flats, TN. He was preceded in death by a sister, Roberta Thompson and a brother, Eddy Burch.
OB worked as a welder for Progress Industries of Arthur, IL for 31 years. OB enjoyed working on dirt bikes, lawn mowers and motorcycles. He was an outdoorsman; fishing, hunting, shooting guns, and just spending time in the woods. One of his favorite things to do was hangout in his garage with family and friends or just listening to his sons’ band, Atheory and spending time with his grandsons and his dog “Buddy”.

Eddy “Ed” Burch, 50, of Humboldt, IL passed away at 7:05 P.M. Monday, September 1, 2008 at his residence. Ed was born on September 5, 1957 in Tuscola, IL. He was a son of Robert Lowell and Delores Darlene (Griffith) Burch. He married DeVaughna Frederick on October 11, 1990 in Charleston, IL.
Survivors include his wife, DeVaughna Burch of Humboldt, IL; two sons, Richard Burch of Oakland, IL and Jason Burch of Hindsboro, IL; two step-children, Heather Lamkin of Oakland, IL and Nathan Sexson of Humboldt, IL; his parents, Robert and Delores Burch of Humboldt, IL; three brothers, Charles Burch and his wife, Song of Ft. Leonard Wood, MO; Orville Burch and his wife, Shelley of Bushton, IL and Doug Burch and his wife, Cindy of Humboldt, IL; one sister, Linda Henne and her husband, Doug of Piney Flats, TN and two granddaughters. One sister, Roberta Thompson and one step-son, Max Sexson preceded him in death.
He had been a member of the Arcola Free Methodist Church. Ed had worked at Vesuvius in Charleston, IL for twelve years. He most recently had worked at Okaw Truss for fourteen years. Ed was an avid Chicago Bears fan, Chicago Cubs fan and fisherman. He enjoyed picking on his guitar once in a while and shooting darts. Ed enjoyed living his life and spending time with his family and friends.

ARCOLA - Gracie A. Burch, 87, of Arcola died at 10:45 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 21, 2006) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center, Coles County. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Shrader Funeral Home, 204 N. Locust St., Arcola. The Rev. Bruce Baker will officiate. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery, Arcola. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Burch was born Feb. 13, 1918, in Kemp, a daughter of Samuel and Laura Conner Gray. She married Clovis "Dude" Burch on Sept. 16, 1949, in Dayton, Ohio. He died Feb. 13, 1997. Survivors include a son, Thomas Wilcox of Atwood; three sisters, Jessie Burch of Arcola, Mary Burton of Montrose and Bessie Maynard of Paris, Ill.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, six brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Burch graduated from Arcola High School and was a housekeeper for many families in Arcola for several years. She was a member of Arcola United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed ringing the bell every Sunday morning. She enjoyed flowers and giving fresh bouquets to friends. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and craftwork.
Memorials may be made to Arcola United Methodist Church.

BROWNSBURG -- Betty J. Burch died July 26 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was 75 and had formerly resided in Danville. Born Feb. 5, 1926, in Indianapolis, she was a daughter of Mild and Feral (Mitchell) Zimmerman. She was the widow of Ray S. Burch. Mrs. Burch was a homemaker and had worked at Danville's IGA grocery store during the 1960s and '70s. She had been a member of Danville Christian Church and Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority.
Survivors include a son, Ron Burch of Indianapolis; a daughter, Shirley Pointer of Avon; brothers John Zimmerman of Blackstone, Va., and Richard Zimmerman of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Doris Peacock of Glendale, Ariz.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services were held July 30 at Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home in Danville with the Rev. Steve Newman officiating. Interment was at Mill Creek Cemetery in Danville.

WEST CHICAGO, Ill. -- Cletus "Rusty" Burch, 61, of West Chicago, formerly of Linton, died Friday at West Chicago. Born Dec. 3, 1925, at Linton, he was the son of General and Lizzie (Lucas) Burch. He was retired from International Harvester. At the time of his death he was an animal control officer at West Chicago. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and had received the Purple Heart. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2193 and Leydon Laurel Masonic lodge No. 1057, F. and A.M.
Survivors include three sisters, Flora Hunter and Helen Robinson, both of Linton, and Della Gunn of Apache Junction, Ariz., and one brother, Herbert Burch of Linton. He was preceded in death by four brothers.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel at Linton with the Rev. Dean Grabill officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call 4-9 p.m. today and prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Burch, who died Monday, August 20 in Hendricks County Hospital, Danville, had resided in Danville since 1951 moving from Plainfield. He was a graduate of Linton-Stockton High School and a 1948 graduate of Canterbury College. He had been a parts manager for 27* years retiring from Bob H___* Ford-Mercury, Danville. Prior to that he had been employed by F.J. Roberts Plymouth, D_____ Gr__________* Ford and _______ M_____* Ford, Danville. An army veteran of World War II, he was a member of Linton Masonic Lodge 568*.
Surviving are wife, Betty, daughter, Shirley Pointer, Danville; son Ron Burch, Indianapolis; four grandchildren; brothers, Herbert Burch, Linton, and Cletus Burch, Chicago, Ill.; sisters, Flora Hunter, Linton, Della Gunn, Apache Junction, AZ, and Helen Robinson, Fort Smith, AR. He was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.

Burch Last Rites
To Be Held Sunday

Funeral services for Clyde Burch, 44 years old, of Linton, killed at 7:15 o'clock Thursday morning in an accident at the Friar Tuck mine, will be held here Sunday afternoon. The services will be conducted at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon. The services will be conducted at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon* at the Assembly of God church with the Rev. W. L. Thornton officiating, and burial will be made in the Stafford cemetery.
Mr. Burch was killed instantly Thursday morning when a metal tank containing oil and compressed air exploded at the mine northwest of Linton. He was born in Greene county on Dec. 29, 1907, the son of Mr. and Mrs. General Burch. He had spent his entire life in this community. With his wife, he had operated the Jenny Wren Pottery shop in Linton for the past several months. He had been employed by the Sherwood-Templeton coal company since 1929.
Mr. Burch is survived by the widow, Mrs. LaVerne Burch; one daughter, Patty Burch, at home; the parents, Mr. and Mrs. General Burch of Linton; five brothers, Paul Burch of Plainfield, Ray Burch of Danville, Harvey Burch of Houston, Tex., Cletus Burch of Chicago and Herbert Burch of Linton; and three sisters, Mrs. Flora Ladson, Mrs. Helen Walker and Mrs. Della Gunn, all of Linton.
The body of the deceased was being returned this afternoon to the family residence from the Newkirk Funeral home at Pleasantville. It will lie in state at the family home until the hour of the funeral.
