SHELBYVILLE, Ind., Sept. 11. --Word
reached here this afternoon announcing the
death of Dr. J. C. Caldwell, late pastor of
the First Presbyterian Church of this city. No particulars were given other than that
death came from heart disease and very
sudden. For two years he has not been in
robust health, being troubled with insomnia. When Dr. Caldwell resigned his pastorate in
this city it was to enter the lecture field,
his time being fully occupied for three
years. He was fifty-eight years old and
leaves a widow and several sons and daughters.
