RITES HERE FOR MRS. CORTELYOU

Funeral services for Mrs. India Cortelyou, 75, wife of Abraham Cortelyou, former resident of Sugar Creek township, who died June 18 at her home in Belle, California, will be held at the C. F. Fix Son Mortuary at 10:00 a.m. Thursday. The Rev. A. J. Spaulding will officiate. Burial will be made in the Fairland cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary. Mrs. Cortelyou was born in Noble township September 14, 1871 the daughter of Joseph and Mary A. (Jones) Mitchell. Surviving is the husband, Abraham Cortelyou, and a sister, Lizzie Walker of St. Paul.

Mrs. Elizabeth Cortelyou
Passed Away At Ft. Wayne

Word has been received here of the death of Mrs. Elizabeth Cortelyou, 71 years old, which occurred at her home in Ft. Wayne, late Monday night from asthma, with which she had suffered for several years. The body will be brought to this county for burial, the arrangements of which will announced later by Chas. M. Ewing, funeral director.
Mrs. Cortelyou was the widow of Henry Cortelyou, and until twelve years ago was a resident of Shelby county. Her husband preceded her in death twenty years ago. She was well known in this community and the news of her death will be a distinct shock to her many friends here.
Mrs. Cortelyou is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Law and Mrs. Mary Emerick, of Ft. Wayne; one brother, John Emerick, of Shelby township; two sisters, Mrs. August Scheffler, Sr., and Mrs. Mary Chapman, of this city and one half brother, Jacob Emerick.

D. B. Wilson & Son were called to Indianapolis at 5:45 p.m. Thursday October 16th, to take charge of the remains of Mrs. Rebecca Cortelyou. The remains were taken to Waldron on the noon train today. Interment was made in Ogden cemetery at 2 p.m.
