Joseph Critchfield, who was well known to the older residents of Shelbyville, died a few days ago in a benevolent institution at Chicago. He was born February 11, 1887, making his age a little over seventy-three years and five months.
Mr. Critchfield resided here a number years, and he was a member of the Masonic lodge and had quite a large acquaintance over the county, having made temperance speeches in almost every section of the county. Deceased was a stone cutter by trade. He was a brother of the Rev. William Critchfield, of Brownstown. His only child, a daughter, is in Paris, France.
