DIES  IN  HOSPITAL

Rites for William H. Dowden
To Be Conducted Tuesday

          William H. Dowden,  64- year-old veteran of overseas service during World War I, died at Billings Hospital.  Fort Benjamin Harrison, Saturday afternoon at 4:15.  He had been confined to the hospital for four months.
          MR.  DOWDEN,  whose home was at 559 W. Taylor St., was a carpenter by trade and was employed by Robert Walts and Sons, contractors.  He was a member of the Lewis Creek Baptist Church.
          The son of  Augustus and  Hannah (Caudell) Dowden,  he was born near Wilson's Corner on December 14, 1887.  On March 30, 1946, he was married to  Gertrude Gordon  who survives with two step-children,  Emerson Barngrover  and  Mrs. Clarence Platt  of this city.  Also surviving are 14 step-grandhcildren.
          LAST  RITES  will be held at the Murphy Mortuary Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. O. M. Hager officiating.  Burial will be in the Lewis Creek Church cemetery, with full military rites to be conducted by members of Victory Post, American Legion.  Members of the local Veterans of Foreign Wars past will serve as pallbearers.  Friends may call at the mortuary.
