Luther E. “Ed” Durst, 73, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005.
Born June 21, 1931, in Germantown, Ohio, s/o Luther E. and Mary Jane (Bolinger) Durst; stepfather was Herbert Boyer.
Raised by his grandmother, Virgie Belle Bolinger.
Married Shirley Ankeney on Oct. 2, 1951, and she survives.
Other survivors include one son, Daniel A. Durst (wife, Barbara) of Shelbyville; one daughter, Susan L. Rice (husband, Norman) of Shelbyville; four sisters, Barbara J. Donahue and Sandra S. Staats, both of Pompano Beach, Fla., Gail Davis of Sacramento, Calif., and Leah Duncan of Louisiana; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Lived in Shelbyville since 1976. Previously lived in Germantown.
Employed in the printing industry for 41 years; retired from Standard Register as plant manager.
Attended Germantown High School.
U.S. Navy veteran, attaining the rank QM3.
Member of the Lutheran church in Germantown and Shelby Shifters.
