Fern L. Farquhar

Fern Louise Farquhar, 88, of Shelbyville, died April 24, 2002. Born April 12, 1914, in Shelby Co, d/o  Roy  and  Cora (Hendricks) Sexton.  Married  Marshall C. Farquhar and he preceded her in death in June of 1986.
Survivors:  stepson, Donald Farquhar  of Morenci, Ariz.; stepdaughter, Claudia Morrison  of Ridgecrest, Calif.; two brothers, Gene Sexton  of Shelbyville and  Jack Sexton  of Orlando, Fla.
Telephone operator and later a dental hygienist.
Moved to California in the late 1930s:  Bakersfield, Trona and Vista.  Returned to Shelbyville in October of 2000, where she lived with her brother and his wife.
1932 graduate of Shelbyville High School.
Member of the Elks Auxiliary.
Graveside services Saturday in Lewis Creek Baptist Cem at State Road 9 and Co Road 600 South in Shelby Co.

Survivors:  daughters  Mrs. Don (Jean) Gooding,  Mrs. Fred (Sue) Roach; and sons  John R. Jr,  Sylvester Pat,  Donald,  Richard,  Bill  and  Eddie Farquer;  brother  Edward Vilvance;  sister  Grace Garrison.
