MORRISTOWN -- Marla Jean (Bennett) Fish, age 74, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024. She was born in Shelbyville, Indiana on May 18, 1950 to Harold and Mary Jean (Linville) Bennett. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1968. She married Gregory Guy Fish on June 30, 1984 in Southeastway Park in Indianapolis, IN.Greenfield, Indiana

She worked for Morristown Elementary as a school secretary for twenty-one years before retiring in 2014. She rejoiced in making every student feel welcome, safe, and like one of her own children. She could be counted on to provide a hug, smile, or laugh to all in need of encouragement. Marla rested securely in the love of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was a lifelong and dedicated member of Little Blue River Friends Church.
She is survived by her husband, Gregory Fish; son, Nicholas Bennett Fish (Lauren); daughter, Whitney Mariah Fish Speicher (Evan); grandchildren, Vivien and Griffin Fish, and Audra and Beatrix Speicher; and sisters, Patricia Bennett, Alicia (Rodney) Brown, and Gail Voorhis. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Mary Jean Bennett.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Little Blue River Friends Church, 122 S. 1000 W., Morristown, IN 46161. Jacob Brown, Marla’s nephew and pastor of Walnut Ridge Friends Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at Asbury Cemetery in Morristown, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the Little Blue River Friends Church at 122 S. 1000 W., Morristown, IN 46161, or envelopes will be available at the church.
