Emma Fishback, 95, Manilla, died at 10:50 p.m. Wed., Oct. 25, 2000 at Heritage House Convalescent House in Shelbyville. Born Sept. 14, 1905 in Urbana, Ill., she was the daughter of James and Lillie (Graham) Meyers. She married Everett Fishback March 26, 1924 and he preceded her in death Jan. 26, 1979. She was a lifelong resident of Rush County. She attended Manilla Christian Church, was a member of Manilla Christian Church Ladies Aid, Rush County Heritage, American Legion No. 70, VFW No. 2695 Auxiliary, and was affiliated with the VFW National Home for Children in Exton Rapids, Mich. She and her husband operated a poultry and egg business in Manilla for many years. She retired 1985 from TRW Cinco Co. after 20 years.
She is survived by four daughters, Mary (Mrs. Tom) Nicholas [sic--Nickolas] of Manilla, Linda (Mrs. James) Parton of Indianapolis, and Jeanette Rager and Marsha Neeb both of Shelbyville; 20 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter and four brothers.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home in Shelbyville with the Rev. Robert White officiating. Burial is at Layton Cemetery in Rush County. Visitation is from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Everett Ray* Fishback, 87, Manilla, died Friday at 3:10 p.m. at the Morristown Nursing Home, where he had been a resident for one year. He was born Sept. 7, 1891 in Decatur County, the son of William and Amanda Britton Fishback. He was married to Emma Meyers March 26, 1924, and she survives. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in Europe, and was a 50-year member of the Rushville American Legion. He was a poultry and egg dealer.
He is survived by, in addition to his widow, five daughters: Mrs. Tom (Mary) Nickolas, Manilla, Mrs. June Drater [sic--Draper], Rushville, Mrs. Herb (Jeanette) Roger [sic--Rager], Manilla, Mrs. Jim (Linda) Paton [sic--Parton], Indianapolis, and Mrs. Jan (Marsha) Neeb, Waldron; two sisters: Mrs. Stella Richey, Connersville and Mrs. Roxie Murphy, Milroy; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and four sisters.
The services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Carmony Funeral Home in Shelbyville with the Rev. W.B. Jenkins officiating and with burial in the Layton Cemetery in Rush County. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. today. The Rushville Post of the American Legion will have military honors at the graveside.

Mrs. Ella V. Fishback, 85, 203 North Fountain, died Sunday at 4:10 a.m. in Fayette Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient a week. She was born November 11, 1885 in Decatur County* to Freeman and Mollie Hess Moore, and had spent most of her life here. Mrs. Fishback was a member of Mothers of World War II and East Side United Methodist Church. Her husband, John Fishback, died December 27, 1969.
Survivors include a son, Winfred Brunner of Connersville; two daughters, Mrs. Lee (Viola) Davis of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. Winona Duvall of Antioch, Calif.; a brother, Roy Moore of St. Paul, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Oliver (Flo) Clay of Shelbyville, and Mrs. Eva Garrett of Sandusky, Ind.; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. A son and two daughters preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Myers Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Myers officiating. Burial will be in Dale Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home any time.

John H. Fishback, 86, 203 Fountain, was found dead at his home at about 5 p.m. Saturday. The death, which had occurred some 15 minutes earlier, was attributed to natural causes. His wife, the former Ella Moore, is a patient in Reid Memorial Hospital. Mr. Fishback was born November 3, 1883, in Williamstown, Ind. to William and Amanda Britton Fishback. He moved to Connersville in 1928 and retired 15 years ago from McQuay-Norris employment.
Besides his wife, to whom he was married in February, 1915,* in Greensburg, survivors are three stepchildren, Winfred Brunner of Connersville, Mrs. Viola Davis of San Diego, Calif., and Winona Duvall of Antioch, Calif.; a brother, Everett Fishback of Manilla; three sisters, Mrs. Lora Warman of Holton, Mrs. Roxie Murphy of Milroy, and Mrs. Stella Richey of Rushville; seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

William Fishback of Milroy died at 9:50 a.m. today at the home of a son, John Fishback, of North Indiana avenue, where he had been visiting the last two weeks. The body was taken to Milroy where services will be held. Survivors include another son, Everett, of Manilla, and four daughters.

ARRANGED FOR WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Amanda Fishback, aged seventy-three years and seven days, died Monday night at ten o'clock at her home in Williamstown, death being caused by a complication of diseases from which she had been suffering for seven weeks. Mrs. Fishback was the wife of William Fishback who is among the survivors. She was born in the Williamstown community and spent her entire life there. Besides her husband she is survived by six children who are Mrs. Jennie Tulley of Shelbyville, Mrs. Lora Tulley and Mrs. Roxie Kinnett of Milroy, Mrs. Stella Richey of Williamstown, Everett Fishback of Williamstown and John Fishback of Connersville. Nineteen grandchildren are also among the survivors. The deceased was a member of the Church of God at Williamstown.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock from the home of her son Everett. Interment will be made in the Layton cemetery east of Williamstown.

*Betty's note: I think this may be Luella, who was born around 1879 in Indiana. I have not been able to find anything about her except the 1880 census in Anderson, Rush County, Indiana.
