Franklin--- The Rev. Emil J. Freeman, 65, Franklin R.R.4, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in his home following an illness of one year. He had been a pastor at several Baptist churches in the Kokomo area over a period of 35 years. Born Oct. 9, 1908, in Owen County, he was the son of Morty and Nancy Stogsdill Freeman. He married Lucille Thatcher in 1929. She survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Nancy Duncan, Greentown; Mrs. Kenneth (Violet) Stancombe, Franklin, and Mrs. Norma Richardson, Shelbyville; one son, James Freeman, Kokomo; six brothers, Estell, Johnie, Jay, Arthur and Roy, all of Spencer, and Wayne of Kokomo; one sister, Marie Hendricks, Phoenix, Ariz., and 11 grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Midway Tabernacle near Morgantown. Burial will be in Bloomington. Friends may call at the Vandiver-Parsley Funeral Home in Franklin from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and after 2 p.m. Friday.
