Judith Holland Grigsby, 85, of Shelbyville died Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, Columbus.
Born Sept. 19, 1924, in Indianapolis, she was the daughter of Loren and Lucille (Holland)
Harcourt.
Married Clifford E. Grigsby on
Dec. 23, 1945; he survives.
Other survivors: daughter, Sally Vaught (husband, Michael),
Shelbyville; grandchildren, Bennett Vaught (wife, Toni), Shelbyville and
Kate Vaught, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Preceded in death by her parents.
Home economics teacher and counselor at Morristown High School and girls counselor at Shelbyville Junior High
School, where she retired in 1987.
Previously taught at New Albany and New Castle schools.
Leader in Shelbyville
Girls Club and 4-H clubs.
Graduated from Milroy High School in 1942, Purdue University in 1945, with a bachelor’s
degree; master’s degree from Butler University in 1965.
Member of First Christian Church, Order of
Eastern Star, P.E.O., Tri Kappa, Purduettes, Delta Kappa Gamma and the American Association of University Women.
Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Pastor Evie Stuard officiating.
Interment: Moscow Cemetery in Moscow.

Jennie, wife of
Charles Griggsby, died at their residence at 197 East Walker street at 3:30 p.m. September 3, 1894, of consumption, aged fifty years.
Funeral services were held at the church at two p.m. Wednesday, September 5, 1894.
Interment at Forest Hill cemetery, Rev. Bailey officiating. M. G. Tindall, funeral director.
