Clyde Faye Hartman, 96, Greenwood, former Fairland and Shelbyville resident, died Thursday, Nov. 8,
2001.
Born Aug. 29, 1905, in Fairland, d/o G. R. and Cora (Hasler)
Linville.
Married Edgar D. Hartman on March 28, 1925; preceded her in death on Oct. 12, 1981.
Survivors: one son, Ray H. Hartman of Shelbyville; four grandchildren, Susan Scales
of Pensacola, Fla., James Hartman of Seymour, Cindy Hartman
of Dallas, Texas, and Phil Hartman of Garland, Texas; 3
great-grandchildren, Candice Scales, Christopher Scales
and Patrick Hartman.
One son, Robert D. Hartman and one brother, Ray Linville, also preceded her in death.
Moved from Bluffton to Shelby County in 1946 and then to Greenwood in 1996.
Homemaker and a member of First Christian Church.
Elm Grove Cemetery in Bluffton, with the Rev. Robert Heimach officiating.
Carmony-Ewing Funeral Homes, 232 W. Broadway St. is handling the arrangements.

"Funeral Services for Local Resident Wednesday

"John (Jack) Hartman, 83, Shelbyville resident died at 11:30 a.m. Monday at a convalescent home at Hope after a long illness.
"Born in Wheeling, West Va., September 14, 1864, he was the son of George and Elizabeth Blumenstein Hartman. He was married to Lizzie Gregg in 1898 (sic). Her death occurred in 1940.
"The only survivor is a nephew, Worland Hartman. A brother, George Hartman, preceding him in death.
"Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Ewing mortuary with Dr. C.A. Bowler officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 7:00 p.m. today."

"City Resident, 76 Years Old, Passes Away in Major Hospital

"Mrs. Lizzie Hartman, age 76, wife of John (Jack) Hartman, of 117 Walker street, died at the Major hospital Friday morning at 10 o'clock. Although Mrs. Hartman had been in poor health for some time, her death was caused from a paralytic stroke suffered Saturday.
"Born in Middletown, Shelby county, April 14, 1864, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Arnold) Gregg, she had spent her entire life in Shelby county. She was married to Mr. Hartman in April, 1901 (sic).
"Survivors with the husband are one brother, Joe Gregg, of Flora, Ill.; one sister, Mrs. Matilda M. Coleman, of Los Angeles, Cal.; two half-brothers, John and Fountain (sic), both of Beecher, Ill.
"Funeral services will be held at the Ewing mortuary Monday at 10:30 a.m. with Dr. C.A. Bowler officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2:00 o'clock Saturday."

Mrs. Eliza Hartman died Thursday at St. Vincent hospital, Indianapolis, while undergoing an operation for the removal of a fibrious tumor. Mrs. Hartman lived in Crawfordsville and was a sister of Mr. Frank Nuckolls and a mother-in-law of Mr. Ed. Cotton of this place. She visited Shelbyville a number of times and had a number of friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Nuckolls and Mr. Cotton have gone to attend the funeral.
