Louella McClure Holzhausen
----------
Louella M. Holzhausen, 89, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at Timber Creek Assisted Living. Born May 3, 1931 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Notrie and Eva (Tennell) McClure. She married Paul E. Holzhausen on January 29, 1949, and he preceded her on October 21, 2016.
Survivors include son Mike Holzhausen (Diana) of South Bend, daughter Connie Fix (Brad) of Shelbyville; 2 sisters- Janice Wilbur of North Vernon, Alice Mann of Texas, brother Danny McClure (Ruth) of Shelbyville; 13 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, 2 sons- James Holzhausen, Kenneth Holzhausen; 4 brothers- Birl, Notrie, Tom, & infant Michael McClure, 2 sisters- Mary Jane Hadley, Jean Smothers, and brother-in-law Garry Wilbur.
Mrs. Holzhausen was a lifelong resident of this area, attended Waldron High School, and received her GED in 2002. She was a dealer for Stanley Products for 20 years and also worked for Danners, General Electric, Roselyn Bakery, & United Laundry for several years. Louella was a member of Fairland United Methodist Church and was treasurer of the WSCS church board. Louella loved her family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She enjoyed attending flea markets, gardening, and cooking.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 4, 2020 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Rd, with Rev. Alecia Gross officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday morning from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Shelby County Cancer Association in care of the funeral home.

Fredrick "Dale" Holzhausen

On Saturday, August 1, 2020, God took Fredrick"Dale" Holzhausen, 88, of Shelbyville, into His everlasting arms, while surrounded by his family at MHP. He was born February 1, 1932 in Decatur County, the son of Fred and Lena (Kruse) Holzhausen. He married Ruby Williamson on February 16, 1951 and she survives.
Other survivors include his son, Stephen (Kristy) Holzhausen, and daughter, Regina Holzhausen, both of Shelbyville; grandchildren, Michael (Dana) Holzhausen of Greenfield, Bambi (Jason) Garrison of Shelbyville, Christopher (Ashley) Holzhausen of Columbus and Andrew Holzhausen; great-grandchildren, Tristian, Ryleigh, Chloe Macy, Jake, Colton, Julie, Elle, Parker and Kenny. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Holzhausen; brother, Leslie Holzhausen and sister, Estel Mae Williamson.
Dale was a lifetime resident of the area. He graduated from Sandusky High School in 1950. A master craftsman, he owned Holzhausen Construction, Inc. for 30 years, retired from Naval Air Warfare Center and installation for Bishopp's Appliances. Dale was a veteran , having served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was proud to be chosen for a 2016 Honor Flight to Washington, DC in recognition of his service to his country.
Dale loved his family, his farm, and his God. He was a quiet man who modeled patience, strength, character and integrity through good times, sickness and disappointments. He had a big heart, always willing to lend a hand to someone in need, and if possible, anonymously. He was a 70 year member of Apostolic Tabernacle.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Apostolic Tabernacle Church, 1500 Miller Avenue, Shelbyville, with Pastor Daniel McDonald and Rev. Tim Streeval officiating. Visitation will be at the church Saturday morning from 11 a.m. until service time. Masks will be required and social distancing will be observed in compliance with government guidelines. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Shelbyville, with a graveside military service conducted by a local veterans organization. Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home. Amos Road, is serving the family.

Kenneth Paul Holzhausen

Kenneth Paul Holzhausen, 48, of Shelbyville, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2005, at his home. Born Jan. 22, 1957, in Shelbyville, he was the son of Paul Edward and Louella May (McClure) Holzhausen. He married Kathy Cassidy on June 20, 1981, and she survives. Other survivors include his parents of Shelbyville; two daughters, Kendra Chrisman of Flat Rock and Kelley Holzhausen of Shelbyville; one sister, Connie Goode of Shelbyville; one brother, G. Michael (Diane) Holzhausen of South Bend; and two granddaughters, Ally Chrisman and Madison Chrisman, both of Flat Rock. He was preceded in death by one son, Kristopher Holzhausen; and one brother, James Holzhausen.
Mr. Holzhausen was employed as a heating and air conditioning technician. He was an 18-year veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Holzhausen was a member of the American Legion and Moose Lodge, where he was a past governor.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Farnsley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, with military rites conducted. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Shelby County, in care of Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville, IN 46176.

Kenneth Paul Holzhausen

Kristopher Paul Holzhausen, 19, of Shelbyville, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. Born Nov. 18, 1984, in Bitburg, Germany, he was the son of Kenny and Kathy (Cassidy) Holzhausen. Survivors include his parents of Shelbyville; two sisters, Kendra Chrisman of Columbus and Kelley Holzhausen of Shelbyville; and grandparents, Paul and Louella Holzhausen and Barbara Cassidy, all of Shelbyville. He was preceded in death by one grandfather, George Cassidy.
Mr. Holzhausen was employed at Indiana Downs in the maintenance department. He had attended Shelbyville High School.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service, 703 S. Harrison St. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Brian Martin and Jim Farnsley officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

George Holtzhausen, Relative of Local
Residents, Succumbs.

Mr. and Mrs. John Sandman, Miss Ruth Sandman, Chet Sandman, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Coulston and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Bass today attended the funeral services for George Holtzhausen brother-in-law of Mr. Sandman, which were held at his home in Newpoint. Mr. Holtzhausen's death occurred Sunday, after an illness of several months. He leaves a widow, three daughters and two sons.
