Funeral for Local Woman
Will Be Held Wednesday

Mrs. Luanna Joachim, lifelong resident of this city and Shelby county, died Sunday at 9:50 a.m. at the Rushville Nursing Home after an illness of 15 months. She was 87 years of age.
Mrs. Joachim, whose home was at 324 W. Pennsylvania St., was born in Shelby county on June 25, 1864, the daughter of Smith and Laurinda (Henderson) Creed. In 1884 she was married to John H. Joachim whose death occurred on December 25, 1928. She was a member of the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church.
Surviving are a daughter Mrs. Knowles Cassidy of Rushville; two brothers, Bass and Herman Creed of near Blue Ridge; two granddaughters, Mrs. Joe Reddington of Indianapolis and Mrs. Fred Bell of Connersville, and four great-grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Verda Dungan, preceded her in death and a grandson, Richard Dungan, was killed in action in World War II.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:OO p.m. at the Ewing Mortuary with Rev. Roscoe M. Wolvington officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the mortuary after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Ill For About Six Weeks

BURIAL TO BE TOMORROW

Christmas Day brought death to John H. Joachim, 64 years old, 324 West Pennsylvania street, after he had been ill for about six weeks with uremia. His decease occurred at 8:45 o'clock Tuesday morning at his home.
Mr. Joachim was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, February 14, 1864. The widow and daughter, Mrs. Noles Cassidy of Rushville, survive. He leaves also three grandchildren and one great grandchild; two brothers, George Joachim of Columbus, Gas and Charles, of
Pittsburgh, Kansas, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Caspri, of
Pittsburgh, Kansas, and Mrs. Catherine Cash, of Los Angeles, California.
He was a member of the First M. E. church of this city and of the Modern Woodmen lodge of Shelbyville. He has lived in Shelbyville for many years and formerly operated a blacksmith shop here.
The funeral services will be held at the home on West Pennsylvania street at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, the Rev.
L. T. Freeland officiating. The interment will be in the Forest Hill cemetery. Charles Ewing is the funeral director.

OBITUARY

At the residence of her husband in Cynthiana, on
Wednesday, February 16, 1881, Mrs.
Matilda C. Joachim, wife of Charles E. Joachim, and daughter of Smith and Laura Creed. Mrs. Joachim was born August 4, 1862, and had been married to her late husband one year and eleven days. She was not a member of any church, but lived a consistent life. Her last words were " Jesus receives me now." Mrs. Joachim leaves behind to mourn, an irreparable loss to him a loving husband and an infant child. Her remains
were followed to the grave by a large concourse of relatives and friends, and were buried by David B. Wilson, undertaker, at the Cynthiana Cemetery. The bereaved parents, brothers and sisters and other near relatives have the entire sympathy of the citizens of this vicinity in their sad bereavement.
