Crystal Dawn Asper Knode, 43, of 322 Vista St. in Hagerstown, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2005, at City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va. Born Feb. 23, 1962, in Charleston, S.C., she was the daughter of Edward E. Asper of Boonsboro and the late Rose L. Wells Asper. She was a 1980 graduate of Williamsport High School. She was employed by Rocs BP in Marlowe, W.Va. She was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Hagerstown.Hagerstown, Maryland

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Daryl W. Knode; one daughter, Beth A. Byrd of Hagerstown; two sons, William J. Von Alt II of Williamsport, and Travis E. Byrd, serving in the U.S. Army in Korea; one stepdaughter, Crista Brandenburg of Martinsburg; one stepson, Daryl W. Knode of Hagerstown; two brothers, Edward E. Asper Jr. of Boonsboro, and Robert A. Asper of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.
A memorial service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown. The Rev. William R. Burgett will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport. The Rev. James Murr will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
