MRS. LAMBERT DIES AT 64

Stroke Fatal; Resident of City for 11 Years

Mrs. Ida H. Lambert, 64, died at her home at 733 Second Street at 11:44 p.m. Sunday after suffering a
stroke after she retired at 10:15 p.m.
She was born in Hart County, Kentucky April 1, 1894, the daughter of Lucian and
Emma (Bastin) Scott. She was first married to John W. Jewell in 1911. He died in 1947. She was married to Herman F.
Lambert on July 20, 1957, and he survives.
Mrs. Lambert leaves also the following children: Mrs. Helen Hicks, Plainfield;
Mrs. Ruie Surface, Indianapolis; Mrs. Virginia Perry, Fairland; John R. Jewell, Anderson; Chester Jewell and Norman Jewell of
Shelbyville; Mrs. Adeline Suttle, Waldron; Mrs. Lucille Tool, Greenwood; Mrs. Pauline Clark and Mrs. Lorne Archey,
Connersville; Mrs. Irene Whitacre, Shirley, and Mrs. Paul Lambert, Shelbyville.
She is survived also by 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, two sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Lambert spent most of her life in the Acton community but had been a resident of Shelbyville
for 11 years. She was a member of the First Church of God..
Funeral services will be held at the church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday with the Rev. Edith
Monroe and Rev. James Simpson officiating. Burial will be in the Acton cemetery.

Received Word of Death

Mrs. Maurice Gore,
of west Broadway, has received word that her cousin, Joseph Lambert, died
at his home in California April 13. Mr. Lambert had resided in California
for the past 10 years, prior to which he was supervisor of manual training in
the schools of Dayto, Ohio, for a number of years. He was well known in
this city, having visited relatives here on numerous occasions.

LAMBERT RITES TO BE TUESDAY

Local Resident Dies at Major Hospital;
Ill Three Months

Mrs. Iris Irene Lambert, 23 years old, wife of
Vernis Lambert of 107 Howard street, died at the Major Hospital at 8 o’clock Sunday night after an illness of three months.
She was the daughter of
Walter and Mamie Murray and was born in Shelbyville December 14, 1912.
Her marriage to Mr. Lambert took place July 1, 1931. Mrs. Lambert became a member of the Fairland M.E. church many years ago.
Besides the husband and parents the deceased is survived by one brother,
Frederick Murray; one sister, Mrs. Sybil Swinehart; and two grandfathers,
William Murray and William C. Wright, all of this city.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Vine Street M.P. church.
The Rev. Paul Million, pastor of the First Christian church, and the Rev. S.G. Jennings, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Loren H. Murphy, funeral director.
Friends may call at the late home, 107 Howard street, anytime until the hour of the funeral.
