Miss May Lefferson, 79, Succumbs at Home

          Miss May Lefferson, age seventy-nine, died at her home at 265 East Franklin street at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday.  She had been seriously ill for the past two months and death was caused by paralysis.
          Miss Lefferson was born in Illinois on February 28, 1868, and was the daughter of  Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Lefferson.  She never married and the only survivors are a sister-in-law, Mrs. Arthur T. Lefferson, of near this city, and nieces and nephews.
          Funeral services will be held at the Sleeth Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Rev. S. J. Cross officiating.  Burial will be made in Forest Hill cemetery.

A. T.  LEFFERSON  DIES  AT  HOME

Funeral Services Will Be Conducted Friday

          Arthur T. Lefferson, age 83, Shelby county farmer, died at his home on the Mausoleum Road at 9:00 p.m. Tursday after an illness of five years.
          Mr. Lefferson was born in Butler County, Ohio on June 27, 1862, and moved to Shelby county in 1870. He was married to Miss Sophia James, who survives with two sons, James and George, at home.  He is also survived by two sisters, Miss May Lefferson  and  Mrs. Tabitha Rinehart, of Franklin.
          Rev. S. J. Cross, former pastor of the West Street Methodist church, will conduct the funeral services at 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Morris Sleeth funeral home, with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Miss Florence Lefferson Who Died Yesterday
Leaves Notice For Papers

HEART  DISEASE  IS  CAUSE

          Miss Florence Lefferson died yesterday afternoon about four o'clock at the residence of her sisters, Misses Bertha  and  May Lefferson, 905 Shelby street, with whom she had made her home.  Death came as a result of heart trouble and complications from which she had suffered for about a year.
          Miss Lefferson had prepared her own death announcement against the end which she felt was approaching. The announcement was complete with the exception of blanks left for filling in the time of her death, the time of the funeral and the name of the minister who was to officiate. We publish herewith the announcement just as she had it prepared:
          "The friends and acquaintnaces of Florence Lefferson are saddened to hear of her passing on.  She passed away Thursday afternoon, March the 5th day about 4 o'clock at the residence of her sisters, 905 Shelby street, where from last December one year ago, she has been in ill health from complications which terminated in an attack of the heart.
          "Following her death, the body was removed to the Ralph J. Edwards funeral parlors where services are to be conducted at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon, Rev. Freeland, pastor of the First Methodist Church, will officiate and burial will be at the family lot in Forest Hill cemetery.
          "Florence was born in the state of Ohio, the daughter of  Benjamin and Catherine (Morten) Lefferson.  Came to Indiana with her parents when quite young; spent most of her life near, and in Shelbyville; with the exception of eight years in Dallas, Texas, and the last ten years in Indianapolis where she established and maintained a home.  "Florence was united with the M.E. Church quite a number of years ago, where she attended church and Sunday school whenever she could.
          "She is survived by one brother, Arthur T. Lefferson, three sisters, Mrs. Lida B. Scott, Fort Worth, Texas,  Bertha and  May Lefferson at whose home she died, also several nieces and nephews.
          "Friends may call at the parlors any time until the hour of the funeral services. Please omit flowers."

Another Aged Woman of the County
Was Taken By Death After Long Illness

          Mrs. Mary C. Lefferson, and aged and well known woman of the county, died Saturday at her home, one and one-half miles south of this city, on the Columbus pike.  Death was caused by a complication of diseases.  Mrs. Lefferson had been ill for the last three weeks and towards the end her strength rapidly ebbed away.
          At the time of her death Mrs. Lefferson was aged eighty-two years, six months and fourteen days.  She had lived in Shelby county for many years and was widely acquainted.
          She is survived by two sons, Henry Lefferson, of Kansas, and  Arthur Lefferson;  four daughters, Mrs. Lida B. Scott, of Texas;  Florence,  Rita  and  May Lefferson, at home; one brother,  James Martin, of Colorado, and one sister, Mrs. Viola Harvey, of Iowa.  Private funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock at the late home.  Rev. H. N. Spear, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating.

          Benjamin F. Lefferson died at his home two miles south west of town at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, of Bronchial affection, aged seventy-five years.
          Funeral services will be held at his late residence at 2 p.m. Friday, April 21, Rev. M. A. Farr officiating. Interment in Forest Hill cemetery by Cummins & Edwards funeral directors.
