Colored Woman Was City Resident Past 45 Years

          Mrs. Ruth Livers,  86, 314 Center St., well-known local colored woman and a city resident for the past 45 years, died at 12:20 a.m. today after an illness of one year.  Her condition had been critical since Thanksgiving and death was caused by a complication of diseases.
          Born November 24, 1861, in Owen county, Ky., Mrs. Livers was the daughter of  Allen  and  Susie Ware.  In early life she was married to  Allen Livers  in Owen county, Ky., and three children were born to this union, all of whom preceded her in death along with her husband.  The children, all Shelbyville residents, were  Hollis Livers,  Mrs. Virgil Senour  and  Miss Alice Livers.
          Seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews survive.
          Mrs. Livers was a devoted member of the New Haven Baptist Church of this city.
          Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Murphy funeral home, with Rev. J. H. Cheffins, pastor of the above church, officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.

HOLLIS  LIVERS  DIES  AT  HOME

          Hollis Livers,  56, widely known colored resident, died at his home at 741 Colescott street at 5:00 o'clock Sunday morning.  He had been in poor health for the past five years, and seriously ill only for the past five weeks.
          Deceased was born in Owen county, Ky., on June 8, 1886, the son of  Allen  and  Ruth Livers.  The family came to Shelbyville from Owen county 39 years ago.
        Mr. Livers was married to  Alta Crawley  at Terre Haute, May 28, 1918.  She survives along with one son, Arthur, a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army, stationed at San Francisco, Cal.; two daughters,  Julia,  of Washington, D.C., and  Mary Frances,  at home; one step-son,  Anthony Boyd, of west Virginia; and the aged mother, at home.
          Complete funeral arrangements will be announced later, but friends may call at the Edwards and Kohlmeyer funeral home anytime after noon today.

          The infant child of  Mr. and Mrs. Livers,  of Hoganville, died Sunday and was buried today in the city cemetery.  Interment was in charge of Edwards & Hageman.
