RETIRED FARMER OF COUNTY DIES

Death Of Greenberry B. McDuffee, Age 75,
Occurred At Waldron

FUNERAL TO BE FRIDAY

Greenberry B. McDuffee, age 75, retired Shelby
county farmer, died at his home in Waldron, at 7:45 o'clock Tuesday evening. Death was due to carcinoma,
a form of cancer. Mr. McDuffee had not been in good health for some time, but was not seriously ill until
Saturday.
Born in Shelby county, north of Waldron,
June 6, 1853, Mr. McDuffee was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert McDuffee. He was married to Miss
Mary A. Wilder, who survives. Mr. McDuffee followed the occupation of farming and lived near Waldron
until his retirement in 1926, when he moved to Waldron. He was a member of the Waldron M.E. Church, the Waldron
Masonic lodge and Order of the Eastern Star. Besides his wife he is survived by one sister, Mrs. Margaret
J. Green, of Waldron. Funeral services will be held at ten o'clock Friday morning at the Waldron M.E.
Church with the pastor, the Rev. R.O. Pearson, officiating assisted by the Rev. C. B. Atkinson, pastor of the Waldron
Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Vienna cemetery in Rush county in charge of Morris Sleeth.
The
members of the Masonic lodge and Order of the Eastern Star of Waldron, will participate in the services.

Miss Lavina McDuffey died at 2 o'clock Friday
afternoon at the home of her sister, Mrs. Frank Henderson, in Rush county, a short distance east of Blue
Ridge, her death being caused by slow paralysis, from which she had been a sufferer for several months. She
was aged sixty-eight years, seven months and eight days. Deceased was a member of the M. E. church at Vienna
and was possessed of a large circle of friends among whom she was held in high esteem. The funeral services
will be held at the Vienna church at 10 o'clock on Sunday morning. The Rev. James L. Brown will officiate
and will be assisted by the Rev. Otis McMullin. The interment will be made in the Vienna cemetery in charge
of Stewart & Fix.

ROBERT MCDUFFY

Robert McDuffy, a well known resident of
Liberty township, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Green, at Waldron, Saturday evening at 8:30 o'clock.
His death was due to senility. He was age ninety years, three months and twenty-six days. He was born
in Harrison county, Kentucky. When he was ten years old, his family moved to Rush county, Indiana. Sixty-one
years ago, Mr. McDuffy moved to this county, settling on a farm in Liberty township. He was married to Elizabeth
Isley sixty-nine years ago. Mrs. McDuffy died five years ago. The farm on which they spent the greater
part of their married life was sold a few months ago and since that time Mr. McDuffy had made his home with his
children.
The children who survive are John W. of Missouri
and Greenbury McDuffy of Waldron, Mrs. John Green, of Waldron and a daughter at Blue Ridge.
Mr. McDuffy's last sickness was of but three week's duration. The funeral service will be held Tuesday morning
in the Vienna church in Rush county at 10:30 o'clock. The cortege will leave the house at 9:30 o'clock. Interment
will be in Vienna cemetery, the Rev. John Scull officiating, assisted by the Rev. C. R. Stout. R. T. Stewart has
charge of the remains.

Mrs. Elizabeth McDuffie, wife of Robert
McDuffie, died at their home one
mile east of St. Vincent Sunday, January 19, at 7:30 p.m., age 85 years and 27 days. She leaves her husband,
two sons and three daughters, Greenbury, of this county, John W., of
Missouri, Mrs. Frank Henderson, of Blue Ridge, Mrs. John Green,
of Waldron and Miss Lavina McDuffie.
Funeral services were held at the Vienna church, Tuesday
January 21, at 11 a.m. Cortege will leave the house at 10 a.m., Rev. Peltzer, of St. Paul, officiating. Interment
in the Vienna cemetery. Stewart & Hand have charge of the remains.
