W. MC GINNIS PASSES AWAY

Pneumonia Causes Death of Local Resident;
Rites Saturday
----------
Wesley McGinnis, 67 years old, died at his home on South Hamilton street at 5:30 o’clock Thursday night following an illness of three weeks.
Death was caused by pneumonia.
He was the son of Noble and Kathryn McGinnis
and was born near Boggstown, Shelby county. He moved to Shelbyville when a young man.
For many years he was employed by the old Citizen’s Gas Company and he later worked as plumber assistant with the Shelbyville Plumbing Company.
At the time of his death he was custodian of the Vine Street M.P. church.
One brother, Charles E. McGinnis, of Indianapolis, and several cousins survive the deceased.
Funeral services will be held at the Vine Street church Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock with the Rev. Forest Crider, of Greenfield, former pastor of that church, officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Loren H. Murphy, funeral director.
The body had been taken to the Murphy funeral home, 331 West Franklin street, where friends may call at any time after 5:00 p.m. today until the hour of the funeral.

Mrs. Phoebe McGinnis, aged sixty-four years, died at 4 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home
of her daughter, Mrs. Elmer Bratton, of Jackson township. Her death was due to a complication of diseases
from which she had been a sufferer for the past several months. Mrs. McGinnis had been a member of the Methodist
Episcopal church at Marietta for the past thirty-five years. She will be remembered by many friends and acquaintances
as one whose religion and Christianity was foremost in every walk of life. She is survived by three sons,
Joseph N. Lee, of Waldron, and James and William McGinnis, and two daughters, Mrs.
Elmer Bratton and Mrs. Florence Campbell. The funeral services will be conducted at the
Marietta M.E. church at 10 o'clock Saturday morning, the Rev. Bivens officiating. The interment will be made
in the church cemetery under the direction of Hageman, Hawkins & Hendrickson.

DEATHS AND FUNERALS

Noble McGinnis, aged seventy years, died at the home of his son
Wesley McGinnis, at 6 o’clock Friday night. Death was due to an attack of acute indigestion, from which he had been a sufferer for only a few hours.
Mr. McGinnis had been employed for the past five years as a cab driver for
Harry Sorden. He was kind and industrious and many of Mr. Sorden’s patrons preferred him as their driver.
He has lived in this city for the past twenty-five years, having come here from Sugar Creek township.
He was born in Tennessee. [October 30, 1841]
He is survived by two sons, Wesley McGinnis, at whose home he died, and
Charles McGinnis, of Indianapolis, and one daughter, Mrs. G. M. [Ida May]
Smith, of this city.
The burial will be held at 2:30 o’clock Sunday afternoon at the home of Wesley McGinnis, 143 south Tompkins street, Rev. A. W. Conn
officiating. Interment in Forest Hill cemetery in charge of Stewart & Fix.

Barney McGinnis died in Marietta at six
a.m. July 20, of kidney trouble, aged seventy years. He was buried in the Johnson cemetery at eleven a.m.
July 21, in charge of Edwards & Hageman.
