Dale McNamara

Dale Emerson McNamara, 83, of Fountaintown, passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, at MHP Medical Center in Shelbyville.
He was born July 14, 1936, in Marion County, the son of Clyde E. and Carrie E. (Tanner) McNamara. On Oct. 29, 1977, he married Carolyn Mosiman, and she survives.
In addition to Carolyn, Dale is survived by his daughter, Dana Fields and husband, Christopher, of Shelbyville. He was blessed to have special little friends, Riley Legan and Drew Legan, in his life, who were like grandchildren to him. Other survivors include sisters-in-;aw, Leslie Glidewell of Fayetteville, Georgia, and Karen McNamara of Fountaintown; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews; and many lifelong friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Delbert McNamara; and son, James "Jimmy" Koch.
He graduated in 1954 from Moral Township High School and attended various trade schools.
Dale was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard, serving for nine years.
He was a farmer and carpenter. Dale was also the Shelby County Building Inspector for over 10 years. Dale attended the Fountaintown Christian Church.
He was a member of Union Local No. 301 Carpenter Millwrights.
Dale enjoyed reading books, including reading the entire Bible. He also enjoyed discussing local history. Dale was a storyteller, told great jokes and was very witty.
He also leaves behind his dog, Molly.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2019, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at the funeral home, with Pastors Joshua Hahn and Michael Smith officiating.
Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.

Delbert C. McNamara

Delbert Calvin McNamara, 75, of Fountaintown, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation in Greenwood.
He was born April 10, 1939, in Indianapolis, the son of Clyde E. and Carried E. (Tanner) McNamara, On Nov. 18, 1965, he married his wife of 48 years, Karen Smith, and she survives.
Also surviving are his daughters, Christina Herrera and husband Johnny, of Fairland and Cynthia Bluhm and husband, Steve, of Fort Wayne; brother, Dale McNamara and wife, Carolyn, of Fountaintown; grandchildren, Isabella, Ethan, Jakob, Eleyna and Lukas; mother-in-law, Marjorie Smith of Shelbyville; and a loving extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Delbert graduated from Moral Township High School in 1957 and Marion University in 1992, with a degree in respiratory therapy.
He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church and served in the National Guard.
Delbert formerly owned and operated McNamara Strawberries and McNamara Apples and Cider. During the winters he would travel to Colorado and work as a lift foreman at the ski resorts. After retiring, he went to college and became a respiratory therapist, working at Community East Hospital and several nursing facilities, retiring in 2005.
He enjoyed golding, snow skiing and his Wednesday morning breakfast group at McDonald's.
Delbert also leaves behind his dog, Reuben.
Visitation will be from 4. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2014, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes. Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.

Lana J. McNamara

Lana Jo McNamara, 63, of Greenwood died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008.
Born Feb. 8, 1945, in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of Richard and Josephine Livingston. She was married to Charles D. "Pete" McNamara for 42 years, and he survives.
Other survivors include her children, Kelly Dawn McNamara, Gavin (Kelli) McNamara and Bridget (Jason) Smith; sisters, Vickie Batton, Sharon Abbott and Cathy Cooper; brother, Anthony Livingston; and grandson, Connor Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Mrs. McNamara was an administrative assistant at Eli Lilly for 33 years.
She was a member of Southport United Methodist Church.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, South STate Road 135 and Olive Branch Road; and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Auburn United Methodist Church, 3100 W. Stones Crossing in Greenwood.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
