          John H. McPherson,  49, Michigan City, died at 8:52 p.m. Monday in LaPorte as the result of an auto accident.  A memorial service is at 11 a.m. Saturday at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Pastor Joan Haney officiating. Burial will be at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.  Mr. McPherson was born Jan. 12, 1950, in Detroit, to Thomas and Pearl B. McPherson. On Sept. 28, 1985, in LaPorte he married Christina Hoops, who survives.
          Also surviving is one daughter,  Misti Putz,  Hammond; three sons,  Randy Heider Jr.  and  Ron Heider Sr.,  both of LaPorte, and  Johnnie McPherson,  Westville; two sisters,  Zola Coghill,  LaPorte, and  Nelle Ruth Hawn,  Oakridge, Tenn.; one brother,  Thomas McPherson,  LaPorte; and 13 grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
          Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
