Mildred (Pickett) Neu, 78, R.R.6, Shelbyville, died Tuesday March 27, 1984.
Born in Batesville on October 29, 1905, to Fred and Ida (Nordloh) Pickett.
Member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Neu Sr.; one son, William Neu Jr., Shelbyville; a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Kaster, Shelbyville; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Anders, Franklin, eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Murphy Mortuary, with the Rev. Richard Morris officiating.
Burial: Forest Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. C. Neu Passed Awa
After Illness of Several
Weeks--Born in Germany.

Residents of this city will regret to learn of the death of Mrs. Emma C. Neu, seventy-seven years old, widow of William A. Neu, which occurred at her home, 271 East Mechanic Street, at 8:45 o'clock this morning from a complication of diseases. Funeral arrangements by Charles M. Ewing. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Neu, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Gruhl, was born in Saxony, Germany, and at an early age came to America with her parents, locating in Shelbyville, where she had since been a resident. Early in life she was united in marriage to Mr. Neu and to this union three sons and two daughters were born. The sons are Ed E. Neu, W.A. Neu and Louis C. Neu, of this city, and the daughters are Mrs. Charles Hurst, of Cumberland, Ind., and Mrs. O.W. Nail, of Indianapolis.
Mrs. Neu was a devoted member of the First Evangelical Church in this city and had been president of the Ladies Aid Society of the church for the past twenty-five years. She was affiliated with the Rebekah Lodge of Shelbyville.
Mrs. Neu was a woman of lovely character and her death is a distinct shock to her hundreds of friends. Besides the sons and daughters, she is survived by eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Herman Gruhl, of Hope, and a sister, Mrs. Louisa Thaler, Winston Salem, N.C.
