Dies Monday

William Niehoff, 71, R. 1, Milroy, died at 7 p.m. Monday at his home. Mr. Niehoff was born February 12, 1902 in Franklin County, the son of Herman and Magdalena Lecher Niehoff. He was married to Thelma Leising on August 22, 1931. Mr. Niehoff lived in Decatur County ten years before moving to his present residence in 1941. He was a retired farmer. The deceased was a lifetime member of St. Mary Catholic Church in this city.
Surviving with the widow are four daughters, Mrs. John (Marilyn) Moller, Greensburg, Mrs. Robert (Ruth) Battreall, and Mrs. Stephen (Betty Jean) Cravens, Indianapolis, and Mrs. Bruce (Edna Mae) Knecht, Shelbyville; a son, Ralph Miehoff, R. 1, Milroy; two brothers, August Niehoff, R. 5 and Otto Niehoff, Oldenburg; three sisters, Mrs. William (Mary) Herbert, Milroy Miss Anne Niehoff, Jackson Nursing Home, Rushville, and Mrs. Gus (Florine) Herbert, Rushville; seven grandson, 13 granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral mass will be held at 11:45 Thursday at St. Mary Church, with Father William Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Murphy and Burns Funeral Home in Milroy after 3 p.m. Wednesday, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
