Age 65, died 10 Jun 2001, Portland.
Born 6 Dec 1935, daughter of Clyde and Kathleen Carey; married Carl W. "Pete" Norvell, died Mar 1999.
Other survivors: daughter, Mrs. Phillip (Dena P.) Hollingsworth; sister, Mrs. Fred (Barbara) Shanks; brother, Marvin Carey; four grandchildren.
Rush Co until Feb 2001.

MRS. NORVELL
DIES IN HOSPITAL

Mrs. Rexie Norvell, 502 W. south St., a lifelong Shelby County resident, died at 11:50 p.m. Wednesday at Major Hospital where she had been admitted Monday.
Born May 17, 1890, in Union Township, Mrs. Norvell was the daughter of Charles and Nancy (Shadley) Kuhn. On Nov. 29, 1914, she was married to Harry Elmer Norvell and he survives.
Also surviving are five sons, Russell Kuhn of Shelbyville, John D. Norvell of Hagerstown, Md., Bobby Gene Norvell of Rushville, and Carl W. and Kenneth Norvell, both of Shelbyville; four daughters, Mrs. Delmer (Kathleen) Sipes of Carthage, Mrs. Bernard (Audrey) Bass, Mrs. Kenneth (Freda) Faurote and Mrs. Donald (Hattie) Montgomery, all of Shelbyville; 30 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Viola Baker, Shelbyville.
Two sons and five brothers and sisters precededin death.
Mrs. Norvell had lived in Shelbyville 42 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Services will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at the Carmony Funeral Home here with the Rev. Helen Hager officiating. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:00 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Norvell's death was due to angina pectoris and followed a few days of illness.
Mrs. Norvell, widow of Albert Norvell, was born in Odessa, Mo., Oct. 14, 1859, a daughter of John and Deborah Kirkpatrick. Her marriage to Mr. Norvell took place Dec. 1, 1886, and he preceded her in death a number of years ago.
Four children survive. They are Mrs. H. A. Wagner, of Indianapolis; Mrs. Cassie Young, Mrs. Mark Schnell and Eugene Norvell, all residing in Cincinnati, O.
A sister, Mrs. Emma Berry, and a brother, Jesse Kirkpatrick, both of North Hollywood, Cal.

DEATH OF JOHN R. NORVELL
----------
John R. Norvell, died at his home in Fairland, Tuesday, at 2:00 p.m. of tuberculosis, aged forty-four years, three months and nine days. He leaves a wife and six children, three brothers and one sister. Funeral will be held in the M. E. Church at Brandywine at 2 p.m. Thursday, the Rev. Mr. Vest officiating. Interment in the Brandywine cemetery. James Hoop and Company have charge.
