          Charles Stephen Riley,  62, of Westfield, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.  Born Jan. 15, 1943, in Rush County, he was the son of  Charles and  Katherine (Tuley) Riley.  He married  Nancy Weilenman  Feb. 6, 1971; she survives.
          Mr. Riley served in the U.S. Navy from 1961 to 1966.  He was a customer engineer for IBM.  He was a member of Christ Community Church at Lamong Road in Sheridan, where he had served as a trustee.  He was Boy Scout leader in Westfield, and also served on the planning commission and board of zoning appeals for the town of Westfield.
          Survivors, in addition to his wife include one son,  Todd Riley  (and wife Helen) of Indianapolis; one granddaughter; one sister,  Patsy (Mrs. Jules) Harcourt  of Murray, Ky.; and one brother,  Gus Riley  (and wife Maxine) of Christianburg, Va.           A memorial service will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday at Christ Community Church in Sheridan.  Arrangements by McMullan Funeral Home of Westfield.

          Katherine L. Riley,  91, of Murray, Ky., died Tuesday, May 18, 2004, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital  Born Aug. 1, 1912, in Shelby County, she was the daughter of  Henry and  Jenny (Fishback) Tuley,  both deceased.  She was preceded in death by her husband,  Charles Riley,  who died in 1983.  Mrs. Riley was a homemaker and a former member of Gowdy United Methodist Church in Rush County.  She had lived in Murray for 19 years.
          Survivors include one daughter,  Patsy (Mrs. Jules) Harcourt  of Murray; two sons,  Gus Riley  (and wife Maxine) of Christenburg [sic--Christianburg], Va., and  Steve Riley  (and wife Nancy) of Westfield; one sister,  Eva June Tuley  of Shelbyville; two brothers,  John and  Robert Tuley,  both of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
          A Memorial Service will be held at a later date at St. John Episcopal Church in Murray.  There will be visitation.*  J.H. Churchill Funeral Home of Murray is handling arrangements.

*Betty’s Note: I have never seen an obituary with the vague wording that “there will be visitation,” but often have seen “there will be no visitation,” so not sure if this is a typo or not.

          Charles Glendon Riley,  69, 1010 Crestmoor Dr., took his own life at home Thursday afternoon.  A farmer, he had worked for GE for 17 years, retiring in 1978.  He was a former member of the Gowdy United Methodist Church, a member of the Vine Street United Methodist Church, Waldron Masonic Lodge No. 217 and Waldron O.E.S.  He had moved to Shelbyville seven years ago from Rush County where he had lived all his life.
          A son of  Gus E. and  Alice (Fox) Riley,  he was born Feb. 11, 1913, in Rush County.  He was married April 7, 1932, to  Katherine Tuley,  who survives.  Also surviving are a daughter,  Mrs. Jules (Patsy) Harcourt,  Murray, Ky.; two sons,  Gus N. Riley,  Christiansburg, Va., and  Charles S. Riley,  Westfield; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  A brother preceded him in death.
          Private graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Blue Ridge Cemetery, with the Rev. Francis Applegate officiating.  There will be no visitation.  Arrangements are being handled by the Carmony Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana Kidney Association.
