Burial:  Philadelphia Cemetery in Philadelphia, Ind.

EARL  SHADLEY
DIES  AT  HOME

          Earl Shadley,  64, of Waldron, died at his home at 1:00 a.m. today.  He had been ill for seven years and in serious condition for one week.
          Mr. Shadley, a resident of Waldron for two years and a lifelong Shelby County resident, had owned and operated a farm in Noble Townshp for 15 years.  He was a member of the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church, where he served as a trustee for several years.
          He was born in Shelbyville, January 7, 1899, a son of  William G. and  Bertha (Webster) Shadley.  On December 25, 1923, he married  Leafie Christian,  who survives with three children,  Gerald F. Shadley  of Waldron,  Dallas L. Shadley  of Vandalia, Ohio, and  Mrs. Goerge (Dorothie) Rhoades  of Waldron.
          Other survivors include two brothers,  Harry Shadley  of Boggstown and  Harold Shadley  of Waldron.
          Services will be Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Carmony Funeral Home in St. Paul with Rev. W. B. Jenkins officiating.  Burial will be in Van Pelt cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home in St. Paul after noon Thursday.

MRS.  SHADLEY
DIES  AT  HOME

          Mrs. Mary Ann Shadley,  89, native of Shelby county, died at 2:20 a.m. today at her home in Marion township, only 13 days following the death of her husband,  Alpinas Shadley.  She was the last member of her family.
          Mrs. Shadley ahd been in failing health for five years.
          The daughter of  Frederick and  Catherine (Eck) Shepple,  she was born September 20, 1863, and spent the greater part of her life in Marion township.  She was a member of the Little Blue River Chapel Evangelical United Brethren Church.
          Her marriage to Mr. Shadley took place on September 2, 1883.  Eight children were born to the union and six survive,  Mrs. Perry Rhoades  and  Mrs. Audry Thurston,  both of Marion township;  Fred Shadley  and  Melville L. Shadleyof this city;  Clarence E. Shadley,  Hancock county, and  Madison T. Shadley,  Indianapolis.  Mr. and Mrs. Shadley also reared  Alf Shadley  and  Landy Myers,  A son and daughter preceded in death,  Mrs. Earl Rice  and  Aurelius Shadley.  Also preceding the couple in death was a grandson,  Maurice Rhoades.
          Other survivors are 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
          Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at the Ewing Mortuary.  Interment will be at Forest Hill cemetery.  Friends may call at the mortuary after 7:00 o'clock this evening.

DEATH  CLAIMS
ALPINAS  SHADLEY

          Alpinas Shadley,  retired carpenter and farmer and a lifelong resident of Shelby county, died at the Major Hospital at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday of complications following an illness of six months.
          The son of  Stephan and Mary Ann (McColley) Shadley,  he was born in Washington township on October 18, 1863.  On September 2, 1883, he was united in marriage with  Mary Ann Shepple,  who survives at their home in Marion township.
          Also surviving are six children born to the union;  Mrs. Perry Rhoades  and  Mrs. Audry Thurston,  Marion township;  Fred S.  and  Melville L. Shadley,  city;  Clarence E.  Hancock county, and  Marion T.,  Indianapolis; 13 grandchildren, and two brothers,  Nicholas Shadley,  city and  William,  of Waldron.  Tw children,  Aurelius Shadley  and  Mrs. Earl Rice,  and a grandson,  Maurice Shadley,  preceded him in death.  Two other men,  Alf Shadley  and  Landy Myers,  were reared by the couple.
          Mr. Shadley was a member of the Blue River Chapel Evangelical and United Brethren Church.
          Funeral services will be held at the Ewing Mortuary Friday at 2:00 p.m. with interment in Forest Hill cemetery.  Friends may call at the mortuary after noon Thursday.
