BOYD  SHEARER
DIES  IN  HOSPITAL

          Boyd Shearer,  39, 407 N. Pike St., died at 10:30 a.m. today at Major Hospital.  He had been ill since January.  Born in Cudiff, Ky., on Feb. 19, 1926, he was the son of  William and  Nell (Sullivan) Shearer.  He was united in marriage to  Julie Shepherd,  who survives with twin daughters,  Judy Kay and  Trudy May,  and another daughter,  Robin Racheal,  at home.
          Also surviving are three brothers,  Floyd Shearer,  Johnson County,  James Shearer,  Shelbyville, and  David Shearer  o Fort Sill, Okla.; and six sisters,  Mrs. Jewel Hadley  and  Mrs. Hazel Wright  of Cudiff,  Mrs. Wilma Loy,  Jamestown, Ky.,  Mrs. Pearl Sandefur,  Needham,  Mrs. Opal Moore,  Boggstown, and  Mrs. Clara Whitaker,  Shelbyville.
          Mr. Shearer was a member of the local Eagles Lodge.  Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Murphy Mortuary, with Rev. Alonzo Hamilton officiating.  Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.  Friends may call at the mortuary after 7:00 p.m. Sunday.

          The funeral services of the late  Paul D. Schacherer,  will be held at the home of his parents,  Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Schacherer,  in Fourth street, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. S. J. Cross, pastor of the West Street M. E. church, officiating.  Interment in Forest Hill cemetery in Charge of Stewart & Fix.  The casket will be open Saturday night from 7 to 9 o'clock and Sunday from 10 until 3 o'clock.  Statement was made in Friday's paper that death was a result of diphtheria.  This was a mistake and the Republican gladly makes the correction.  The boy died from acute nephritis.  The death report was made out by Dr. W. C. McFadden.
