Ruth D. Shelton, 83, of Shelbyville, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002.
Born March 10, 1919, in Shelby County, d/o Bert and Jessie M. (Gray) Kaster. Married Robert M. Shelton on Nov. 27, 1957; he preceded her in death on March 20, 1992.
Survivors: 2 brothers, Carl W. Kaster of Fairland and Paul Kaster of Shelbyville.
Preceded in death by infant son & sister, Hazel L. Kepley.
Lifelong Shelby County resident; homemaker.
Member of First United Methodist Church.

Richard Earl Shelton, 78, of Morristown, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002.
Born Nov. 11, 1923, in Morristown, s/o John Arthur and Mary Esther (Newhouse) Shelton. Married Catherine “Deanne” Phillips on Nov. 11, 1923; she survives.
Other survivors: 3 sons, Richard D. Shelton of Arlington, Neb., John P. Shelton of Santee, Calif., and Gregory L. Shelton of Culver City, Calif.; 1 daughter, Tina S. Shelton of Frazier Park, Calif.; 16 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Lowell Keith Shelton and Robert H. Shelton.
Electronic engineer for Hughes Aircraft in Culver City.
Graduated Morristown High School 1941 and Purdue University.
U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1945.
Member of Gwynneville Christian Church, board member and secretary of Asbury Cemetery Association in Morristown, life member of American Legion in California, American Legion Post No. 102 past commander, Morristown Masonic Lodge, Morristown Eastern Star No. 316, Murat Shrine, ARRL Radio Organization, National Baldwin Commandry and York Rite.
Funeral services Gwynneville Christian Church in Gwynneville.
Burial Asbury Cemetery in Morristown with military rites conducted by local veterans organizations.

Russell A. Shelton, born on Jan. 6, 1930, in New Castle, s/o Claude and Mammie (Hacker) Shelton. On Dec. 24, 1948, married Ethel Louise (Pugh) Shelton, who survives.
Automation electrician at Western Electric for 27 years before retiring in 1984.
Survivors include his wife, Fountaintown; two daughters, Beth Ann Johnson, Waverly, and Claudia Wagner, Camby; two sons, Michael Allen Shelton, Clinton, and Jeffery W. Shelton, Shelbyville; a half sister, Connie Petty; two half brothers, Tony Shelton and Marvin Shelton; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by a son, a daughter and a sister.

Mrs. George E. Shelton Died at Cicero Wednesday

Mrs. George E. [Clara
M.] Shelton, sister of representative Alfred Lee, of
second street, died at 6:15 o’clock Wednesday evening at her home in Cicero,
of typhoid fever. She was 43 years of age.
The body will be brought to this city Friday morning.
Funeral services will
be held at the Lewis Creek Baptist church at 10:30 o’clock Saturday morning.
The Rev. Lucky, of Macy, officiating, assisted by the Rev. H.N. Spear, of this
city. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Shelton is survived by the husband, three sons,
Floyd Leroy; Charles
Alfred, and George E. Jr.; two brothers, Alfred Lee, of this city;
William Lee,
Shelby Township; and one sister, Mrs. Mary A. Young, of Shelby township.
