Martha Jean Skillman, 68, a lifetime Shelby County resident, died Jan. 23,
Speedway [Marion County, Indiana].
Born March 21, 1932, in Shelby County, d/o Carl and Mabel (Wagoner)
Gahimer. Married Jack E. Skillman on March 25,
1951; preceded in death in Feb. 9, 1995.
Other survivors include three sons, Jack E. Skillman II, Shelbyville,
Dan Skillman, Greensburg, and Timothy Skillman, Richmond; one daughter,
Jeanne Skillman, Speedway; one sister, Mrs. Fred (Anna Mae) John, New Carlisle; one brother,
Fred Gahimer, Indianapolis; and six grandchildren.
Secretary for the Shelby Eastern School district for 18 years, retiring in 1985.
Member of Manilla Christian Church, Manilla, and the church’s ladies aid society.
Glenn E. George and Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Horner officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Tuck Skillman, a well-known resident of Fairland, went to Indianapolis last week and wandered about for three days, his mind temporarily impaired. He was found on Friday last, and was returned to his home. Early Monday morning he placed the muzzle of his revolver in his mouth and pulled the trigger, death resulting instantly.
