Injuries Fatal To Man, Wife
Train - Automobile Collide At Crossing in Greenfield

Mr.
and
Mrs.
Harry
Smaltz,
of
Leesburg,
are
dead
after
their
automobile
was
hit
by
a
westbound
Pennsylvania
passenger
train
in
Greenfield
yesterday
afternoon.
Mrs.
Smaltz
died
in
the
Major
Hospital
here
and
her
husband
died
in
an
ambulance
on
the
way
to
the
hospital.
The
bodies
were
taken
to
the
Lyman
funeral
home
in
Greenfield.
Dr.
C.
J.
Price,
Shelby
county
coroner,
was
called
to
investigate.
The
couple,
on
their
way
to
Florida,
was
accompanied
by
relatives
of
Mrs.
Smaltz,
Mr.
and
Mrs.
George
Colwell,
of
Syracuse,
Ind.
Mr.
Colwell
received
severe
injuries
but
his
wife
was
only
slightly
hurt.
Mr.
Colwell
was
admitted
to
the
hospital
and
his
condition
was
reported
as
satisfactory
today.
