Monday. Failing health for 1 year.
Carmony Funeral Home. Masonic
services. The Rev. James H. Horner will officiate.
Burial: Forest Hill Cemetery.
Employee of Indiana Bell Telephone, Indianapolis for 20 years. he was a
facility assigner.
Lifelong resident of Shelbyville until moving to
Indianapolis in 1971.
Army Air Force veteran of World War II serving in
the European Theater.
Belonged to the Shelbyville Masonic Lodge and the
First Christian church here.
Born June 6, 1922 in Shelbyville, s/o Ralph and
Lela (Cherry) Stilabower.
Married June 27, 1971, Margie Irvin.
Surviving: wife; son, Michael E. Stilabower, Indianapolis; two
stepchildren, Jeffery Irvin and Mrs. Del (Nancy) Carter, both of Indianapolis;
a sister, Mrs. Robert (Lois Jean) Meltzer, Shelbyville; and a
granddaughter.

Mrs. Martha I. Stilabower, 46, 380 W. Broadway, died Sunday. Failing health for several weeks.
Spent the greater portion of
her life in Shelby County.
Served as secretary at Addison Township
School for the past 11 years.
Member of the First Christian Church
here, Naamah Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and an
Extension Homemaker club.
Born in Shelbyville March 4,
1922, d/o Carl and Alta M. (Moore) Stewart.
Married Carol Stilabower on Jan. 21, 1945.
Surviving: husband; her parents; son, Michael Eric Stilabower, a student at Indiana State University.

sister preceded in death in 1936.

Burial: Forest Hill Cemetery and O.E.S. graveside rites will be conducted.

Saturday evening. Patient at the hospital 5 weeks, failing
health several years.

Lived in this community most of his life.
Member of the First Christian Church and Shelby Lodge No. 28, F. and A.M.
Born in Johnson County
Sept. 30, 1897, s/o Charles and Anna (Gilbert) Stilabower.
Married Lelia Ellen Cherry on April 23, 1919, in Shelby County and she died April 30,
1962.
Survivors: son, Carol E. Stilabower, Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs.
Robert (Jean) Meltzer, Shelbyville; 2 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
Two sisters preceded in death.

Mrs. Ralph (Lelia Ellen) Stilabower, 62, 1123 S. Harrison St., died Monday. Ill since November and critically ill for the past four days. Death attributed to complications.
Born in Shelby Township on April 4, 1900, d/o Albert and Rena (Kelly) Cherry.
On April 23, 1919, married Ralph Stilabower.
Survivors: husband, 2 children, Carol E. Stilabower of Shelbyville and Mrs. Robert Meltzer of Union Township; 1 brother, Raymond Cherry of Shelby Township; 1 sister, Mrs. Francis Stone of this city; 2 grandchildren.
A brother and sister preceded in death.
Member of the Fenns Christian Church and the Eastern Star Lodge.
