DEATH  CLAIMS  REV. TELTOE

Retired Methodist Protestant Pastor Dies
----------
          Rev. William R. Teltoe, retired Methodist-Protestant minister and veteran of the Spanish-American War and World War 1, died at his home at 558 west Taylor St. at 8:00 a.m. Saturday.  He had been ill with a complication of diseases since suffering a stroke of paralysis in August 1942, and was a patient for several months at the U.S. Veterans hospital in Indianapolis.  Rev. Teltoe was born on August 14, 1871, the son of  Joseph and Mary Fair Teltoe.  He served as a chaplain in both the Spanish-American and first World Wars and was a minister in the Methodist-Protestant Churches in northern Indiana for many years.  He also served as a pastor of the Arlington Methodist Church for one year and of the Norristown church for two years.  On September 22, 1901, he was married to  Miss Leona Dowden, of Shelby county.  She survives with four sisters and two brothers,  Mrs. Eva Patterson, of this city;  Mrs. Stella Mohr, of Geneva;  Mrs. Ethel Cochran and  Mrs. Verne Goodwin, of Lewis Creek, and  Lot Teltoe, of near Geneva. Rev. Teltoe was a member of the local organization of Spanish-American War Veterans.  Funeral services will be held at the Loren H. Murphy funeral home at 2:00 p.m. today with Rev. Clarence Hager officiating. Burial will be made in the Patterson cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home.

CRASH  VICTIM'S  FUNERAL  TODAY

Services to Be Held This Afternoon at
Geneva Methodist Church

          Funeral services were arranged Tuesday for Robert Teltoe , 17, residing southwest of Geneva, who lost his life in a truck-train crash at a St. Paul crossing Monday afternoon to become the fifth Shelby county person to die in traffic accidents. Last rites for the youth, who was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ora Teltoe, of near Geneva, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. in the Geneva Methodist church. The Rev. Henry White, pastor of the Flat Rock Methodist church, will officiate at the services. Burial in charge of the D.E. Carmony funeral home at St. Paul will be made in the Flat Rock cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral establishment at any time.

Mrs. Mary Teltoe Passed Away
At 11:30 Today - Injured In Accident

          Mrs. Mary Teltoe, aged resident of Lewis Creek passed away at her home there today about 11:30 o'clock.  Her death was caused by a complication of diseases.  The deceased suffered serious injuries in an automobile accident south of Waldron several weeks ago when an automobile in which she and  Mr. and Mrs. Charles Goodwin  were riding was turned over.  Mrs. Teltoe was seventy three years of age.
          She was born in North Carolina in October 1840 and came to Shelby county with her parents when only two years of age.  Her parents settled near Lewis Creek on a farm where the deceased resided until a few years ago when her husband, Joseph Teltoe  passed away.  She then moved to Lewis Creek where she lived until her death.  Mrs. Teltoe was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church at Lewis Creek.  She is survived by three sons, William Teltoe  of Fairmount,  John  and  Lot Teltoe  of Lewis Creek and four daughters, Mrs. Ethel Cochran  and  Mrs. Vernia Goodwin  of near Lewis Creek, Mrs. Eva Patterson  of near Geneva. Also a sister, Mrs. Nancy Lemar  and brother, William Fair  of this city survive.
          Funeral services will be announced Friday by Fix & Son, undertakers in charge.

          Funeral services for  Mrs. Mary Teltoe, who died Thursday at her home in Lewis Creek, will be held Saturday morning at ten o'clock, at the Lewis Creek Wesleyan Methodist church, the Rev. Dooley officiating, assisted by the Rev. S. D. Hawkins.  Burial will be made in the Patterson cemetery, Fix & Son in charge.
