Garnet E. Tharp, 78, 732 Fair Avenue, died Thursday, January 23, 1992. He was born November 30, 1913, in Shelbyville, a son of Frank and Frances (Webster) Tharp. On October 30, 1938, he married Roberta C. Roberts, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Larry Tharp, Shelbyville; and two granddaughters. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church. Services at Murphy Mortuary with burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.

Frank Tharp, 62, Dies At
Rushville Nursing Home

Ill since suffering injuries in a fall last September, Frank Tharp of Arlington, 62-year-old former Shelby county resident, died at the Clinton Nursing Home in Rushville Sunday evening at 5:00 o'clock. Mr. Tharp, who was a retired cabinet maker, was born in Arlington on February 25, 1888, but spent most of his life in Shelby county before moving back to the Rush county town in 1941. He was the son of Andrew and Jane Gillison Tharp.
IN 1909 HE was married to Frances Webster whose death occurred in 1941. He is survived by one son, Garnet Tharp of this city; a grandson, Larry Tharp; three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Walter Perkins, Rushville, Mrs. Cora Rollins, Santa Cruz, Calif., Mrs. Susie Logan, Pekin, Ill., Will Tharp, Columbus, and Lew Tharp, Kokomo.
Mr. Tharp was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church and Rev. Josephine Huffer, pastor of the church, will officiate at funeral services Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. The last rites will be held at the Sleeth Funeral Home and burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.
