          A special from Franklin says:  "Yesterday evening  Samuel Vannuys,  who had resided for many years in this county, died at this home, four miles west of here.  He was eighty-seven years of age, and for almost sixty years had been one of the ruling elders in the Hopewell Presbyterian Church.  His funeral took place this afternoon at Hopewell, at 3 o'clock.
