John Vansyoc of Gwynneville, buried a child Thursday, who died of scarlet fever. His three other children and wife are very sick with the same disease.

Sarah J. VanScyoc, was born in Grundy county Ohio, March 18th, 1838 and died near Morristown, Ind., July 23, 1878.
She was married to Able VanScyoc in 1845, came to Indiana in 1846, first settling in Brown county, where after a residence of three years they resolved to return to Ohio on their way back they stopped to visit a sister near Morristown, and were so pleased with the country that they remained.
She joined the Methodist church when young and was converted some years after. When death came to her she was found at her post. The funeral sermon will be preached October 8th.
