Melly L. Vicich. Age 69. Passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center. Born July 4, 1935 in Palastine, IL, to the late Noah and Cora (nee Bingaman) DeVore. She was raised in Palastine, moving to Chicago in 1954. She relocated to Joliet in 1964 and has resided in Crest Hill since 1974.Joliet, Kendall and Will County, Illinois

Beloved mother of Candi (Joel) Thuringer of Crest Hill, Johanna Vicich of Crest Hill, Loretta (Randy) Brown of Gilbert, AZ, Edwin (Cathy) Vicich Jr. of Crest Hill. Grandmother of Erica and Robin Thuringer, Nicole and Edwin H. Vicich III. Sister of Charles (Ruth) DeVore of White Bear Lake, MN, Robert (Esther) DeVore of Niceville, FL, and Elizabeth (Wilford*) Hanley of Carpentersville, IL; and numerous nieces and nephews, also survive. Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin H. Vicich, Sr.; her parents; three brothers, Earl, Burl and Pearl DeVore; five sisters, Nora Cauliflower, Opaline Coleman, Leona Bennier, Mary Vash and Nina Sisk.
Melly was a retired dispatcher from the city of Crest Hill Police Department, president for two years of Crest Hill Boys Basketball, member of Northwest Club Women's Auxiliary, Richland Grade School PTC and a past Director of the Joliet Park District Precisionette's Drill Team.
Funeral Services for Melly L. Vicich will be Friday, April 1, 2005, 10 AM at the funeral Home. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation Thursday 2-9 PM at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet
