Larry G. Ward, 64 of Lafayette Ave., died at 9 am Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at his home. No funeral services are planned, cremation will take place. Survivors include his children, Larry G. Ward Jr., Mark A. Ward and Kris A. Johnson all of Columbus; sister Marilyn Dill of Columbus; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home. He was preceded in death by his wife Virginia Carolyn Ward.

Margret L. Ward, 88, of Lafayette Avenue, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2010, at her home. Arrangements were made by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ward is survived by sons , Larry Ward and William Ward, both of Columbus; a daughter, Marilyn Dill of Columbus; a sister, Ruth Taylor of Columbia, Ky.; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin F. Ward.
Cremation is planned. There will be no funeral service.

Arthur Finley Ward, 64, of Columbus, Ind., died at 9:01 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2006, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility. Mr. Ward was previously employed at Golden Foundry. He was an F5 Gunners Mate serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Laffey, a guard ship for the USS Enterprise, during the Cuban Missile Crisis.
Mr. Ward was born Dec. 11, 1941 in Bartholomew County, the son of Martin F. and Margaret Ward.* Survivors include his mother, of Columbus; sons, Ronald (Karen) Ward of Franklin, Ind. and Darryl Ward of Medora, Ind.; daughters, Cheryl (Don) Cox of Kentucky, Carla Ward and Tanya Ward, both of Medora; brothers, Larry Ward of Columbus and Bill Ward of Kentucky; a sister, Marilyn Dill of Bedford, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, a brother, Carl Ward.

Virginia Carolyn Ward, 53, of Lafayette Avenue died at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2004, at her home. Mrs. Ward was housekeeper and child caregiver for 20 years and worked at Como Plastics for five years. She currently was employed by Nagakura Engineering Works.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street. Calling will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until service time Monday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Born in Jeffersonville July 5, 1950, Mrs. Ward was the daughter of Robert and Susie Pike Decker. She married Larry G. Ward April 11, 1966. Survivors include her husband; sons, Larry G. Ward Jr. and Mark A. Ward, both of Columbus; a daughter, Kris A. Johnson of Columbus; brothers, Leon Decker of New Albany and Danny Decker of North Vernon; sisters, Mary Green and Luvicey Eldridge, both of Medora; grandchildren, Tiffany and Damian Ward, Ryan Redmon and Dilian Osbun, all of Columbus; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Nicholas Ward.

Carl D. Ward, 64, of Road 100N died at 3 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2003, at his home. Mr. Ward worked at Adesa Car Auction for 13 years, retiring in 2002 as a driver.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Inlow & Weaver Funeral Home on Washington Street, with the Rev. J. C. Brown officiating. Calling will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Born in Flat Rock Feb. 11, 1939, Mr. Ward was the son of Martin and Margaret Pope Ward. He married Emma Palmer and Betty Pfaffenberger.
Survivors include his mother, of Columbus; a son, William Henry of Columbus; brothers, Arthur, Larry and William D. Ward, all of Columbus; a sister, Marilyn Dill of Bedford; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and both wives.

Indianapolis

Martin Ward, 55, of Route 5, died today at Veterans hospital in Indianapolis. He had been in failing health for two years and hospitalized for four weeks. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Reed funeral home by the Rev. Garland Johnson. Persons may call after 1 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Ward was born in Bartholomew county on Feb.14,* 1914, the son of Walter and Mary Rambo Ward. He spent his entire life in Bartholomew county. He was a veteran of the second world war and a member of the South Bethany Christian church.
Mr. Ward is survived by his wife, Margaret; his mother, Mrs. Mary Ward of Kennedy trailer court; four sons, Carl Ward of Greensburg, Arthur and Larry Ward of Route 5 and Billy, at home; a daughter, Mrs. Marilyn Dill of Jewell Village; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Cecil Ward of Kennedy trailer court, Earl Ward of Waymansville and Robert Ward of Lowell addition; two sisters, Muriel Ritchey of Columbus and Fern Artis of Elizabethtown. He was preceded in death by twin sons** in 1961, his father in 1955 and a brother.

Martin Wards'
Twin Sons Die

Graveside funeral rites were conducted this afternoon at Garland Brook cemetery for twin sons born at 12:50 o'clock Sunday afternoon at county hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Martin Ward of Route 5. One child was stillborn and the other lived about three hours.
Surviving with the parents are five brothers and sisters, Carl, Dale, Arthur Finley, Marilyn K., Larry and Billy; and the grandparents, Mrs. Walter Ward and Floyd Pope, both of Columbus.
Reed funeral home made arrangements.
