BERNARD  T.  WHITINGER
----------
          Bernard T. Whitinger,  77, R.R. 1 Manilla, died Sunday at the Martin Memorial Medical Center in Stuart, Fla.  Mr. Whitinger was born Jan. 6, 1916, in Blue Ridge, the son of  Herbert and  Mabel (Tinsley) Whitinger.  He married  Frances M. Bush  on Jan. 2, 1942, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 15, 1971.
          Mr. Whitinger, a farmer, was a member of the Fairland Christian Church.  Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fairland Christian Church.  Burial will be in the Fairland Cemetery.  Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home.  There will be additional visitation at the church one hour before services.
          Survivors include a daughter,  Sharon Cochran,  Indianapolis; four granchildren; and a sister,  Eileen Eiler,  Jensen Beach, Fla.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.

          Services for  Bert C. Whitinger,  94, R.R.6, Shelbyville, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church.  He died at 6:40 a.m. Saturday at the Jackson Nursing Home, Rushville. He had been in failing health several months.
          Friends may call at the Carmony Funeral Home after 3 p.m. today and after noon Tuesday at the church before the services.  Burial will be in Blue Ridge Cemetery.  The Rev. W. B. Jenkins will officiate at the services.
          Mr. Whitinger, a resident of the Blue Ridge community most of his life, was a retired farmer and livestock buyer.  He formerly attended the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church.
          Born June 28, 1885, in Walker Township, Rush County, he was a son of  Richard and  Alice (Scull) Whitinger.  On Nov. 27, 1907, he married  Mabel Tinsely,  who died July 20, 1946.  Surviving are two children,  Bernard T. Whitinger,  R.R. 1, Manilla and  Mrs. Franklin (Eileen) Eiler  Jensen Beach, Fla., and a grandchild and two great-grandchildren.  Nine brothers and sisters preceded in death.

          Bert C. Whitinger,  94, R.R. 6, Shelbyville (Blue Ridge), a retired farmer and livestock broker, died this morning at the Jackson Nursing Home in Rushville.  Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Carmony Funeral Home here.

Rites at Blue Ridge
For Mrs. Whitinger

          Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Blue Ridge Christian Union Church for  Mrs. Mabel Tinsley Whitinger,  age fifty-seve, who died Saturday night at her home in Rush county.  She was the wife of  Bert Whitinger  and spent most of her life in Blue Ridge.
          The Rev. W. B. Jenkins will officiate at the last rites and burial will be made at the Blue Ridge cemetery, in charge of D. E. Carmony.  Firends may call at the Whitinger home at any time.
          Born in Blue Ridge July 27, 1888, Mrs. Whitinger was the daughter of  Freeman and  Samantha (Jones) Tinsley.  She was married to Mr. Whitinger Nov. 27, 1907.  Mrs. Whitinger was a member of the old Blue Ridge Methodist Church.
          Surviving with the husband are two children,  Bernard Whitinger  and  Mrs. Franklin Eller,  both living east of Shelbyville; two sisters,  Mrs. Charles English,  of Rush county,  and  Mrs. Harry Farrow,  of Blue Ridge.
