VETERAN DIES IN INDIANAPOLIS

Frank Joseph Whitten, 48, Succumbs

Frank Joseph Whitten, 48, veteran of World War I, died at the U. S.
Veterans Hospital in Indianapolis at 3:45 p.m. Thursday. His home was at 746 First street.
The son of Joseph and Minnie Whitten, he was born in Jackson county on May 24, 1879. He was married to Mary M. Barnhart on September 27, 1926. Mr. Whitten was a member of the Victory Post No. 70, American Legion, and attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church.
Surviving are the widow; five children, Jacob, Betty, Gilbert, Margaret, Donna May, at home; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Holloran, of Dayton, Ohio; a half-sister, Mrs. Otis Ruddick, of Seymour; and a half-brother, Richard Prather, also of Seymour. A son, Robert, died in 1932.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Loren H. Murphy funeral home with the Rev. Mr. Knox officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7:00 p.m. today.
