Wissing Rites Set Saturday

Mrs. Lena N. Wissing, 78, Manilla, died Wednesday in Shelbyville.
Lifelong resident of Manilla area.
Member of the Manilla Methodist Church.
Born July 1, 1890, Orange township, Rush County, d/o  Michael  and  Mary Gahimer Kney.
Married  George E. Wissing  December 31, 1906;  he died July 17, 1942.
Survivors:  daughters,  Mrs. Clyde (Helen) Brown, Waldron;  Mrs. Caroline Kuhn, Manilla, and  Mrs. Wallace (Lucille) Linville, Shelbyville;  13 grandchildren;  six great-grandchildren.
Son, Willard,  proceded in death.
Carmony Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with Rev. Richard Clark officiating.
Burial:  Forest Hill.

DEATH  CLAIMS  JACOB  WISSING

Rush  County  Farmer  Dies
At  Home  Following  Stroke

          Jacob A. Wissing, 84, widely known farmer, died at his home near Homer this morning at 3:45.  He had suffered a stroke Saturday evening at his home.
          Born near Manilla on Sept. 1, 1867, he was the son of  Jacob and  Caroline (Hertsel) Wissing.  He was married on April 26, 1901 to  Ervell Crist  who survives with one step-daughter,  Mrs. Opal Stevens  of Indianapolis, two step-grandchildren, four step-great grandchildren and one step-great great grandchild.  Also surviving are two brothers,  Henry C. Wissing  of Shelbyville and  John M.  of Manilla.
          Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at the Carmony Funeral Home of Manilla with Rev. W. B. Jenkins officiating.  Burial will be in the Mausoleum in East Hill cemetery at Rushville.  Friends may call at t he funeral home after noon Wednesday.
