nee Fisher had four children - Addie Pearl Purvis born March 28, 1884, in Needham, Johnson County, Indiana. Pearl married William Edward Green 16 January 1901. They had four children - Marian born 1902, Lillian born 26 January 1904, Mary Alice born 12 February 1906 and Gordon Warren born 10 October 1910. Pearl worked as a milliner and seamstress. Pearl died prior to her father's death. Carl Purvis born July 24, 1886 in Needham, Johnson County, Indiana; died in McCook, Red Willow County, Nebraska on February 6, 1950. Carl worked in Shelbyville as a farmer, teamster, and coal hauler. He married Lillie (1884 to 1934) and they had two children - Gordon William Purvis born October 20, 1916 in McCook, Nebraska; killed December 8, 1941 on Wake Island when the first Japanese air attack was made on the Marines defending the island; the second child Jack Purvis was born around 1920. worked in Shelbyville as a farmer, an extra hand at the saw mill, and
enlisted into the U.S. Cavalry in 1905. He married
Edith Cowles of San Antonio, Texas on April 24, 1915 in
Cleveland Ohio. They had one child, Myrle Lillian
born December 24, 1917 in Cleveland Ohio; died July 22,
1997.
Margaret (Minnie) Purvis born December 1890, Johnson County, married Edward Brown, a baseball player. No known children. Died in Denver Colorado at an unknown date. |
