In the Matter of the Petition of Thomas H. Hargraves and Ida Hargraves
For the Adoption of Dorthy Beatrice Evans, a minor

          The undersigned petitions would represent and show to the Court that their names are Thomas H. Hargraves and Ida Hargraves and that they are husband and wife, residing in Marion County, Indiana.
          The petitioners would further represent and show to the Court that they hereby petition said Court for an order for the adoption of a minor child, Dorthy Beatrice Evans, who was born on the 11^th day of December, 1917 and whose legal residence is Shelby County, Indiana. That they desire to adopt Dorthy Beatrice Evans as the heir-at-law of these petitioners and each of them and that after such adoption that said child shall be named Dorthy Beatrice Hargraves, that said child has no father living and that its mother Eva Helen Evans is a resident of Shelby County, Indiana. That such child is not the owner of any property either real or personal, within or without the State of Indiana, to the knowledge of these petitioners.
          WHEREFORE Said petitioners pray the court that they be allowed by this court to adopt said Dorthy Beatrice Evans as their child and heir-at-law and each of them and that the name of said child be changed to Dorthy Beatrice Hargraves.

Comes now Eva Helen Evans, mother of Dorthy Beatrice Evans, the person mentioned in the petition of Thomas H. Hargraves and Ida Hargraves for adoption and voluntarily appears in said proceedings and consents and requests the Court to grant said petition whereby her said daughter, Dorthy Beatrice Evans, may be adopted by said petitioners and that said child be given the name of Dorthy Beatrice Hargraves.
