            In the name of the benevolent Father of all I  John G. Adams  of Morristown Shelby County Indiana do make and publish this my last will and testament.

Item 1st     I give and devise to my son  George G. Adams the house and lot on which I now reside described as follows to wit.
            And all the stock household goods & furniture provisions and other goods & chattels which may be there on or at the time of my decease.

Item 2nd     I do hereby appoint  Allen P. Wortman  Executor of this my last will & testament hereby authorizing and Empowering him to compromise adjust release and discharge in such manner as he may decree proper the debts and claims due me.

            I do also authorize and empower him to retain in his possession the House and lot (as above described) for the term of five years after my decease in order that he may pay himself out of the rents and profits of said House and lot the Mortgage that he holds against me & after the said Mortgage is paid off to pay any and all money (after paying taxes and for necessary repairs) to my son George G. Adams. I hereby revoke all former will by me made. In testimony hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this thirty first of August in the year of our Lord 1886.

            Be it remembered that on the first day of December 1886,  Manuel A. Sleeth  one of the subscribing witnesses to the within and foregoing last will and testament of John G. Adams late of said County, deceased, personally appeared before Thomas S. Jones Clerk of the Circuit Court of Shelby County in the state of Indiana and being duly sworn by the Clerk of said Court upon his oath declared and testified as follows, that is to say: that on the 31” day of August 1886 he saw the said John G. Adams sign his name to said instrument in writing as and for his last will and testament, and that the said Instrument in writing was at the same time at the request of said John G. Adams and with his consent attested and subscribed by said M. A. Sleeth & Temple Ballinger, in the presence of said testator, and in the presence of each other as subscribing Witnesses thereto and that the said John G. Adams was at the time of the signing and subscribing of said Instrument in writing as aforesaid of full age ( that is more than twenty one years of age) and of sound and disposing mind and Memory and not under any coercion or restraint as the said deponent verily believes and further deponent says not.

            I Thomas Jones Clerk of the Shelby Circuit Court of Shelby County Indiana do hereby certify that the within annexed will and Testament of John G. Adams has been duly admitted to probate and duly proved by the testimony of M. A. Sleeth one of the subscribing witnesses thereto that a complete record of said Will and of the Testimony of the said M. A. Sleeth in proof thereof has been by me duly made and recorded in Book 2 pages 136 of the Records of Wills of said County.
