Henry
Maley, farmer and lumber-dealer, Edinburg, was born March 18, 1841, in Germany,
and is the son of John and Christine Maley,
who settled in this county in 1841. Mr. Maley married Jan. 10, 1864, Miss Rebecca, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Compton, who are both living. Mr. and Mrs. Maley are the parents of five children --- Phoebe
A., William H., Charles E., Maud E. and Claude. Mr.
Maley is a heavy lumber dealer here and in West Virginia, and handles from 4,000,000 to 5,000,000 feet yearly.
He is a real business man, a congenial fellow, a good neighbor, an out-and-out Democrat, and takes a lively
interest in politics. He has a fine farm near Edinburg, and dispenses hospitality in a social and lavish
manner. Mr. Maley's mother died in 1857, and his father in 1867.
