Joab  Simmons

          SIMMONS, JOAB, P.O. Lizton; Farmer, Sec. 28; settled here in 1864; born in Shelby Co., Ind., June 7, 1834; son of  Augustus (b. April 1, 1801, d. April 10, 1865) and  Margaret Thompson.  Married Feb. 5, 1857, to Rachel, b. Jan. 20, 1837, daughter of  Enoch and Phebe Sexton; two children-- Mary A., b. Aug. 16, 1859, and  Viola, b. July 9, 1864.
