Transcriber's Notes:

Per a certified copy of his military records, CHARLES HOWERY died 28 January 1863 at Sandersville, TN, while a private in Company F, 70th Regiment Indiana Volunteers, at the age of 25 years. Cause of death was disease. He was the son of  WILLLIAM HOWERY  and  CATHARINE COLCLAZIER.
An asterick [*] is used to footnote and appears at the bottom of the document it refers to.
Anything written within square brackets [  ] has been added by the transcriber.
Original spelling, capitalization and punctuation have been retained.
All personal names have been typed in upper case for emphasis.
Typing done in italics represents words/numbers on a pre-printed form on the original document.
There are  "US INTER.REVENUE INLdEXCHANGE" stamps, as indicated by the notation "[revenue stamp]",  They were cancelled by writing the transaction date on the face.
